  • Publication number: 20120138688
Abstract: A system and method of providing and validating a bar-code on a lottery ticket to allow secure verification of tickets is described. Lottery ticket information comprising unique identifying information uniquely identifying the lottery ticket and validation information for use in determining a prize value associated with the lottery ticket is generated. First redundancy information is generated using the validation information and a portion of the unique identifying information. The first redundancy information used for checking the integrity of subsequently received validation information. The validation information is encrypted and second redundancy information is generated using the unique identifying information and the encrypted validation information. • Publication number: 20120118769
Abstract: A holder for a telecommunications device includes a container including a side wall connected to a base. Together the side wall and base define a cavity. Side wall defines an opening of the container at an end of the side wall distal to the base. A resilient insert is disposed inside the cavity. The insert includes a bottom portion that abuts the base and a feature for releasably retaining the device inside the container. A lid is in selective locking engagement with the side wall's distal end. When in locking engagement, the lid encloses the opening of the container to retain the device inside the holder, and to muffle a sound and/or a vibration produced by the device. A locking mechanism is operatively attached to the container and/or the lid, and holds the lid and the container together when the lid is in locking engagement with the distal end.

  • Publication number: 20110202083
Abstract: A gastrointestinal implant device is positioned in a patient's small intestine or rectum and produces an outward force that itself produces a distension signal which is a therapeutically useful neural or humoral signal that evokes satiogenic or weight loss effects by itself. The device may advantageously be placed in the duodenum adjacent the pylorus or in the jejunum, ileum or rectum. The distension signals may amplify chemosensory or mechanosensory signals such as enteroendocrine secretions within the patient. The device may be a mesh and include a low material density that allows for unrestricted chyme absorption within the small intestine and unrestricted chyme flow through the gastrointestinal system. A method includes inserting the device into the patient then either retrieving the device after treatment is complete or allowing a device formed of a biodegradable material to degrade in time after treatment is complete.
