  • Patent number: 12164372
Abstract: Aspects of a storage device including a memory and a controller are provided. The controller may determine to perform garbage collection on a superblock. During the garbage collection process, the controller will typically move the superblock into an erase pool for erasing the superblock. However, aspects of the disclosure are directed to a method of measuring a raw bit error rate (RBER) of the superblock prior to erasure. The measured RBER may be used to estimate a data retention time of the storage device and provide the customer with an early warning notification if a health metric of the storage devices reaches a threshold retention time.

  • Patent number: 11429619
Abstract: Techniques for generating and leveraging heterogenous edges in an online connection network are provided. In one technique, a particular user is identified. The identification may be made in response to a computing device of the particular user requesting data from a particular system. For each entity type of multiple entity types: (1) a set of entities of the entity type is identified based on one or more attributes of the particular user; (2) a ranking of the set of entities is generated based on one or more criteria; and (3) a subset of the set of entities is selected and included in a final set of entities. The final set of entities includes entities from different entity types of the multiple entity types. The final set of entities is transmitted over a computer network to be presented concurrently on a computing device of the particular user.

  • Publication number: 20220245683
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a visualized recurrence schedule for services that utilize recurring donations and operate on an instance of a web application. The system receives a query for recurring donations information for a donor in a donor database. In response to the query, the system generates and causes a display of a recurrence schedule using the donations information for the donor, the recurrence schedule comprising a plurality of installments, each installment having a date and an amount, The display is presented in accordance with a predetermined visualization scheme. The system can receive a user modification for an installment of the plurality of installments, to either (i) pause the amount or (ii) change the amount. The method regenerates the recurrence schedule and regenerates the display, to thereby display the recurrence schedule, as modified, on a display device in a client device.

  • Patent number: 10528207
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving user input (e.g., touch input) selecting a content object displayed in an application on the user's mobile device. The mobile device may then send a request to a social-networking system for content objects and social-networking information related to the selected content object. In response to the user input, the mobile device may provide a persistent display of an interactive element (e.g., a bauble) that corresponds to the selected content object. The interactive element may be displayed, and the user may interact with it, without interfering with the underlying application. The interactive element may float over the application window until the user expands or dismisses it. The user may expand the interactive element to reveal a user interface in which the content object and requested related content objects and social-networking information are presented.

  • Patent number: 7376094
Abstract: Based on a selected criterion, a BTS (Base Transceiver Station) for each mobile station (MS) determines an antenna pattern in a reverse channel, based on combined weight factors in weighed combining of signals from antenna array elements during MS signal receiving, and in the forward channel, based on combined weight factors in weighed combining of signals from antenna array elements during MS signal transmission. The antenna pattern determined in the forward channel is performed by the reverse channel signal. The antenna pattern determined in the forward channel is based on the estimate of the angle signal area of mobiles station that is the average angle of signal arrival and its angle sector or on the estimate of average angle of signal arrival only. To determine the desired signal angular area, a decision function is proposed, where powerful interference canceling is implemented.

  • Patent number: 7162210
Abstract: Improvement of interference canceling efficiency and communication system capacity due to the use of the optimal decision function in adaptation of the adaptive antenna array weight factors. An adaptive antenna array pattern forming algorithm is used. The weight vector is determined from the position of the decision function maximum. The proposed decision function is based on estimation of signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) at the adaptive antenna array output and is no singular even without noise and interference.

  • Publication number: 20060207799
Abstract: Hydrocarbons can be recovered from a subterranean reservoir by drilling an injection well bore having an outlet in the reservoir and drilling a production well bore spaced apart from the injection well bore and having an inlet in the reservoir. A drilling tool is capable of being inserted into a well bore to drill a web of channels to form a permeable zone in the reservoir. The drilling tool comprises a drill head adapted to drill a web of channels that radiate out from the well bore to form the permeable zone, and a power source to supply power to the drill head.

  • Publication number: 20050079551
Abstract: An organic layer capable of forming surface areas having an adsorption property different from that of a periphery due to the chemical change of a surface functional group is formed on a board. The surface of the organic layer is patterned and oxidized by a scanning probe microscope to form an array pattern in which small sections for adsorbing nanoparticles are arranged. Then, nanoparticle dispersed solution is applied to the organic layer having the array pattern or the organic layer is dipped in the nanoparticle dispersed solution to form a particle layer on the organic layer. At this time, the nanoparticles in the nanoparticle dispersed solution are respectively fixed only onto the small sections. Therefore, a nanoparticle array on which groups of nanoparticles are arranged in an array can be obtained.
