  • Publication number: 20050045325
Abstract: Hydrocarbons are recovered from a subterranean reservoir by drilling an injection well bore having an outlet in the reservoir and drilling a production well bore spaced apart from the injection well bore and having an inlet in the reservoir. A permeable zone having a first patterned web of channels radiating outwardly from the outlet of the injection well and connecting to a second patterned web of channels radiating outwardly from the inlet of the production well is formed in the reservoir. Heated fluid is passed from the outlet into the permeable zone to mobilize hydrocarbons in the subterranean reservoir so that the mobilized hydrocarbons flow toward the inlet. The permeable zone fans out from the wells to cover an extended area of the reservoir to enhance hydrocarbon recovery by heating hydrocarbons from an expanded area of a reservoir and gravity draining the hydrocarbons.

  • Publication number: 20030152099
Abstract: Based on a selected criterion, a BTS (Base Transceiver Station) for each mobile station (MS) determines an antenna pattern in a reverse channel, based on combined weight factors in weighed combining of signals from antenna array elements during MS signal receiving, and in the forward channel, based on combined weight factors in weighed combining of signals from antenna array elements during MS signal transmission. The antenna pattern determined in the forward channel is performed by the reverse channel signal. The antenna pattern determined in the forward channel is based on the estimate of the angle signal area of mobiles station that is the average angle of signal arrival and its angle sector or on the estimate of average angle of signal arrival only. To determine the desired signal angular area, a decision function is proposed, where powerful interference canceling is implemented.

  • Publication number: 20030100344
Abstract: Improvement of interference canceling efficiency and communication system capacity due to the use of the optimal decision function in adaptation of the adaptive antenna array weight factors. An adaptive antenna array pattern forming algorithm is used. The weight vector is determined from the position of the decision function maximum. The proposed decision function is based on estimation of signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) at the adaptive antenna array output and is no singular even without noise and interference.

  • Patent number: 6044645
Abstract: A power transmission has a hydraulic control from which oil is distributed to various transmission components, a cooler and reservoir. A flow direction control valve is disposed in the distribution system to direct oil in transit to the reservoir during cold operation and to a transmission lubrication circuit or cooling circuit during normal operating temperatures.

  • Patent number: 6012520
Abstract: A gravity-drainage hydrocarbon recovery method is provided to produce oil and gas from subterranean formations. A substantially horizontal high-permeability web is created at the bottom portion of an oil reservoir. The web is connected to a production well. The high-permeability web is fabricated by conventional drilling, high-pressure water jet drilling, and high-power microwave fracturing. Primary oil recovery will benefit from this configuration in terms of improved volumetric sweep efficiency, delayed gas break through, increased oil production rate and overall oil recovery. This method is also used with secondary oil recovery for which a gas is injected into the upper portion of a reservoir. Oil is produced from the bottom portion of the reservoir. If economically warranted, high-permeability web is also implemented to the injection well.
