  • Patent number: 11922073
Abstract: A Virtual Tape Emulation (VTE) application is able to be updated without disrupting IO operations by hosts on a set of virtual tape drives managed by the VTE application. When an old VTE application is to be replaced with a new VTE application, the new VTE application is provided with the same configuration information as the old VTE application. Each time a host unmounts a virtual tape from a virtual tape drive on the old VTE application, device management for that virtual tape drive is migrated from the old VTE application to the new VTE application. Specifically, path and channel information for the virtual tape drive is transferred to the new VTE application, and applied by the new VTE application to a respective device on the new VTE application. Once device management for all virtual tape drives has been transferred, the old VTE application is terminated.

  • Patent number: 11924808
Abstract: Techniques for sidelink resource selection, reselection, and reevaluation are disclosed. An apparatus for a user equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for 5G-NR sidelink communications, the processing circuitry is to decode an SCI format received via a PSCCH. The SCI format includes priority information for a scheduled PSSCH transmission. RRC signaling is decoded to determine first configuration information and second configuration information. The first configuration information identifies a sensing window, and the second configuration information identifies a resource selection window. A boundary of the resource selection window is based on the priority information. A set of candidate single-slot resources is determined during the sensing window using a resource pool. A resource is selected during the resource selection window from the set of candidate single-slot resources.

  • Patent number: 11913314
Abstract: A method is offered to predict and prevent the event of fracture hit (direct fluid communication) between a parent well and a child (active) well. The growth of a child well creates 3D stress field in the vicinity of a parent well. The growth of a child well is simulated using the geomechanic-transport model. A model of interaction between the child well and parent well is provided. The simulations for different job designs create a set of pressure scenario in the parent both for the cases with and without fracture hit (fracture hit catalogue). Comparison (matching) of actual pressure data in the parent and child well with the pre-calculated pressure scenarios indicate the risk of fracture development with a fracture hit, which means a stop in fracturing stimulation.

  • Patent number: 11914523
Abstract: This disclosure provides techniques hierarchical address virtualization within a memory controller and configurable block device allocation. By performing address translation only at select hierarchical levels, a memory controller can be designed to have predictable I/O latency, with brief or otherwise negligible logical-to-physical address translation time. In one embodiment, address transition may be implemented entirely with logical gates and look-up tables of a memory controller integrated circuit, without requiring processor cycles. The disclosed virtualization scheme also provides for flexibility in customizing the configuration of virtual storage devices, to present nearly any desired configuration to a host or client.

Abstract: In particular embodiments, a computing system may receive a color image captured by a color camera and a monochrome image captured by a monochrome camera. The color camera and the monochrome camera are associated with an artificial reality system. The computing system may compute, for each of the color and monochrome images, histogram statistics and perform, based on the histogram statistics, tone map matching to normalize the monochrome image with respect to the color image. The computing system may perform local motion estimation to calculate motion vectors indicating pixel correspondence between the normalized monochrome image and the color image. The computing system may generate a mono-color merged image for display on the artificial reality system by adding, for each pixel in the normalized monochrome image, color information extracted from corresponding pixel in the color image using the motion vectors.
