  • Patent number: 11907569
Abstract: A host stores “context” metadata for logical block addresses (LBAs) in a manner tied to physical location. Notwithstanding log-structured or copy on write processes, the host is then provided with immediate context when the host is called upon to assist a memory controller with data identified by physical location, for example, for memory reconfiguration, garbage collection, wear leveling or other processes. The metadata for example can provide the host with insight as to which data may be moved to enhance performance optimization and where that data can be placed. In one embodiment, the host writes back one or more references that span multiple layers of indirection in concert with write of the underlying data; in another embodiment, the context can point to other metadata.

  • Patent number: 11907134
Abstract: This disclosure provides techniques hierarchical address virtualization within a memory controller and configurable block device allocation. By performing address translation only at select hierarchical levels, a memory controller can be designed to have predictable I/O latency, with brief or otherwise negligible logical-to-physical address translation time. In one embodiment, address transition may be implemented entirely with logical gates and look-up tables of a memory controller integrated circuit, without requiring processor cycles. The disclosed virtualization scheme also provides for flexibility in customizing the configuration of virtual storage devices, to present nearly any desired configuration to a host or client.

  • Patent number: 11907310
Abstract: A computer system extracts product data from a website and correlates product records from multiple sources to one another as corresponding to the same product. A website is crawled efficiently by rendering webpages using a virtual browser that ignores blacklisted elements, extracts data from objects without rendering, and suppressing retrieval of remote resources. Data is extracted according to engine control statements including a selector and extractor. A website may be crawled repeatedly and changes in extracted data may be detected and flagged. Engine control statements may be automatically changed in response to detecting a change in the configuration of the website. Images of product records may be correlated with one another by first comparing text of the product records and selecting images for comparison based on composition. Images are compared using a machine learning model. Images determined to be similar may be presented to a human for a correlation decision.

  • Publication number: 20240056486
Abstract: Some embodiments automatically reduce or remove gaps between a data resource's actual policy and an optimal policy. Policy gaps may arise when a different kind of data is added to the resource after the policy was set, or when the original policy is deemed inadequate, for example. An embodiment obtains a characterization of the resource's data in terms of sensitivity, criticality, or category, captured in scores or labels. The embodiment locates the resource's current policy, and conforms the policy with best practices, by modifying or replacing the policy as indicated. Policy adjustments may implement recommendations that were generated by an artificial intelligence model. Policy adjustments may be periodic, ongoing, or driven by specified trigger events. Policy conformance of particular resource sets may be prioritized. Automated policy conformance improves security, operational consistency, and computational efficiency, and relieves personnel of tedious and error-prone tasks.

  • Publication number: 20240056989
Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for determining a precoder for APs in a cell-free communication system. A method is performed by a controller of the APs. The method comprises obtaining channel estimates of a radio propagation channel between the APs and user equipment served in the cell-free communication system. The method comprises determining a precoder for the APs. The precoder has a ZF precoding factor and a power allocation factor. The ZF precoding factor is determined from the channel estimates. The power allocation factor is determined by maximizing total transmission power for all user symbols to be transmitted to the user equipment, one user symbol per each user equipment. Transmission power of each of the APs is not larger than a power constraint. Transmission power for each of the user equipment is lower bounded by a scaled heuristic value. The method comprises initiating transmission of precoded user symbols from the APs towards the user equipment.

  • Publication number: 20240056098
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described to encoded data into a bitstream and to decode data from a bitstream. The method is able to perform parallel encoding and decoding efficiently and avoids padding of substreams thus reducing the amount of bits within the bitstream. Portions of input data channels are multiplexed and encoded into substreams. During the multiplexing shuffling methods are applied in order to obtain substreams of more uniform lengths. The amount of bits within the substream may be further reduced by including only the relevant significant bits within the trailing bits of the encoding process.

  • Publication number: 20240056577
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described to encode data into a bitstream and to decode data from a bitstream. The method is able to reduce the length of the bitstream by including only the relevant significant bits within the trailing bits of the encoding process. The amount of these leading trailing bits is determined and the trailing bits, which have the least amount, can be constructed. Indications of the amount of leading trailing bits are included into the bitstream. Therefore, padding is not required, resulting in less bits, which need to be signaled.

  • Patent number: 11899575
Abstract: This disclosure provides for host-controller cooperation in managing NAND flash memory. The controller maintains information for each erase unit which tracks memory usage. This information assists the host in making decisions about specific operations, for example, initiating garbage collection, space reclamation, wear leveling or other operations. For example, metadata can be provided to the host identifying whether each page of an erase unit has been released, and the host can specifically then command each of consolidation and erase using direct addressing. By redefining host-controller responsibilities in this manner, much of the overhead association with FTL functions can be substantially removed from the memory controller, with the host directly specifying physical addresses. This reduces performance unpredictability and overhead, thereby facilitating integration of solid state drives (SSDs) with other forms of storage.
