Patent number: 11815525Abstract: Operation of a device may be influenced based on whether the device is being tilted or has been picked up. Accelerometers gather accelerometer data that is processed to determine a reference pose. The reference pose is determined by analyzing the accelerometer data to determine “quiet” periods of accelerometer data. A moving average of the quiet periods is used to determine the reference pose. One or more override techniques may be used to compensate for noise in the accelerometer data, such as produced by the device playing music. The accelerometer data may be processed to compensate for other influences, such as intended movement of the device by one or more actuators. This processed data is compared to the reference pose. Responsive to the processed data exceeding a threshold value, the device may stop moving the one or more actuators, present output on a user interface, and so forth.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2020Date of Patent: November 14, 2023Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Edward Ayrapetian, Animesh Mishra

Patent number: 11188727Abstract: A camera-based barcode reader captures an image, determines a region of interest of a barcode within the image, and generates a barcode image from the region of interest. The camera-based barcode reader aligns each of multiple horizontal regions within the barcode image to a reference horizontal region within the barcode image. The alignment of a horizontal region includes (i) determining a set of alignment parameters to apply to the horizontal region based on a comparison of the reference horizontal region to the horizontal region when adjusted to different combinations of alignment parameters and (ii) adjusting the horizontal region according to the set of alignment parameters for that horizontal region. After aligning the barcode image, the camera-based barcode reader decodes the barcode from the barcode image.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2019Date of Patent: November 30, 2021Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Taylor Jeffrey Lloyd, Keith Deacon, Dylan Andrew Norris, Alton Paul Werronen, Animesh Mishra, Roman Shmulevich

Patent number: 10448020Abstract: Video analytics may be used to assist video encoding by selectively encoding only portions of a frame and using, instead, previously encoded portions. Previously encoded portions may be used when succeeding frames have a level of motion less than a threshold. In such case, all or part of succeeding frames may not be encoded, increasing bandwidth and speed in some embodiments.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 2018Date of Patent: October 15, 2019Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Naveen Doddapuneni, Animesh Mishra, Jose M. Patent number: 10269696Abstract: Flexible circuits mountable in a standoff region between a chip carrier, e.g., a ball grid array (BGA) component, and a printed circuit board (PCB) of a surface-mount package are described. In an example, a flexible circuit includes holes to receive pins, e.g., solder balls, of the BGA component, and one or more conductive leads electrically connected to respective solder balls within the holes. The conductive leads may interconnect several solder balls within the standoff region, and may be electrically accessible through a test pad located laterally outward from the standoff region. Electrical signals may be monitored or driven through the test pad, and thus, the flexible circuit may be used as a debug tool for detecting and or correcting a design fault of the surface-mount package.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2015Date of Patent: April 23, 2019Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Gerrit John Vreman, Animesh Mishra
