  • Publication number: 20230169632
Abstract: Certain aspects and features of this disclosure relate to semantically-aware image extrapolation. In one example, an input image is segmented to produce an input segmentation map of object instances in the input image. An object generation network is used to generate an extrapolated semantic label map for an extrapolated image. The extrapolated semantic label map includes instances in the original image and instances that will appear in an outpainted region of the extrapolated image. A panoptic label map is derived from coordinates of output instances in the extrapolated image and used to identify partial instances and boundaries. Instance-aware context normalization is used to apply one or more characteristics from the input image to the outpainted region to maintain semantic continuity. The extrapolated image includes the original image and the outpainted region and can be rendered or stored for future use.

  • Patent number: 11658910
Abstract: Described in this document, among other things, is an overload protection system that can protect data sinks from overload by controlling the volume of data sent to those data sinks in a fine-grained manner. The protection system preferably sits in between edge servers, or other producers of data, and data sinks that will receive some or all of the data. Preferably, each data sink owner defines a policy to control how and when overload protection will be applied. Each policy can include definitions of how to monitor the stream of data for overload and specify one or more conditions upon which throttling actions are necessary. In embodiments, a policy can contain a multi-part specification to identify the class(es) of traffic to monitor to see if the conditions have been triggered.

  • Patent number: 11656666
Abstract: A computing device has an energy storage device system with multiple energy storage devices. Various different criteria are used to determine which one or more of the multiple energy storage devices to charge or discharge at any given time to provide power to the computing device. The criteria can include characteristics of the energy storage devices as well as hardware and/or physical characteristics of the computing device, characteristics of the energy storage devices and/or the computing device that change while the computing device operates, and predicted behavior or usage of the computing device. These criteria are evaluated during operation of the computing device, and the appropriate energy storage device(s) from which to draw power or to charge at any given time based on these criteria are determined.

  • Publication number: 20230134051
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that enable user terminals to eliminate or reduce the number of dummy bursts (or bursts with no data) they send. The systems and methods use two burst detectors, a first burst detector that analyzes the physical structure of the signal, and a second burst detector that analyzes the informational structure of the signal. Output from the first burst detector can be used to control operation of a signal decoder that decodes received signals. The second burst detector analyzes output from the signal decoder to determine the second burst indicator. In other words, the first burst detector can be implemented prior to decoding the received signal to provide a first estimate related to the presence or absence of a burst. This can then be used to limit the amount of processing performed by the signal decoder.
