  • Publication number: 20070239058
Abstract: Pocket-size medical spirometer comprising a housing and a measurement unit (MU), for measuring rate of total flow when a user exhales through the spirometer. The MU comprises a fluidic jet oscillator adapted to generate oscillating flow with frequency dependent on the rate of flow therethrough. The MU is disposed within the housing so as to form a bypass flow path defined between an outer surface of the MU and an inner surface of the housing. A measurement flow path is defined through the fluidic jet oscillator, such that the total flow is divided into a bypass flow and a measurement flow, the latter being less than the former at least by an order of magnitude. The spirometer further comprises a pressure or velocity transducer and an electronic circuit adapted to derive the total flow rate or volume from the transducer signal.

  • Publication number: 20070240037
Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and systems for creating and managing website content involve, for example, providing a user at a computer terminal a data capture template for a user-selected content type, providing the user at the computer terminal presentation pages using content management tags, allowing the user at the computer terminal to author content using the data capture template, and allowing the user at the computer terminal to deploy the content to a server. Other aspects of the methods and systems for creating and managing website content include, for example, allowing the user to personalize content, allowing the user to embed dynamic content in the middle of static content, allowing the user to refresh the deployed content in real-time without impacting current existing user sessions on the server where content is being deployed.

  • Publication number: 20070234646
Abstract: A method of manufacturing polycrystalline abrasive elements consisting of micron, sub-micron or nano-sized ultrahard abrasives dispersed in micron, sub-micron or nano-sized matrix materials. A plurality of ultrahard abrasive particles having vitreophilic surfaces are coated with a matrix precursor material in a refined colloidal process and then treated to render them suitable for sintering. The matrix precursor material can be converted to an oxide, nitride, carbide, oxynitride, oxycarbide, or carbonitride, or an elemental form thereof. The coated ultrahard abrasive particles are consolidated and sintered at a pressure and temperature at which they are crystallographically or thermodynamically stable.

  • Publication number: 20070239244
Abstract: The intrapericardial lead includes a lead body having a proximal portion and a flexible, pre-curved distal end portion. The distal end portion carries at least one electrode assembly containing an electrode adapted to engage pericardial tissue. The distal end portion further carries a pre-curved flexible wire member having ends attached to spaced apart points along the distal end portion of the lead body, the flexible wire member having a normally expanded state wherein an intermediate portion of the wire member is spaced apart from the distal end portion, and a generally straightened state wherein the wire member and the distal end portion are disposed in a more parallel, adjacent relationship so as to present a small frontal area to facilitate delivery into the pericardial space. The wire member re-expands to its normal state after delivery into the percaridal space to anchor the distal end portion of the lead body relative to the pericardial tissue.

  • Publication number: 20070229475
Abstract: A single-piece top surface display and integrated front cover for an electronic device. In one embodiment, the cover comprises a thin, flexible, transparent layer coupled with a supporting structure. The flexible layer is supported above a display screen which is coupled with pressure activated sensors located under the display screen. The cover is dust-free, waterproof, and has a flat outer surface that is free of any steps or indentations. Users input data by applying pressure on the cover which causes the display screen to deflect and activate the sensors. The pressure exerted on the sensors is triangulated to register the position of the user input. In another embodiment, the cover is transparent, rigid, and directly contacts the pressure activated sensors which are located in front of the display screen or in the housing behind it. When pressure is applied to the cover, the cover deflects and activates the sensors. In both embodiments, an accelerometer identifies valid input events.

  • Patent number: 7275926
Abstract: The present invention is a hot runner nozzle design consisting of a nozzle core with slotted flange seated inside a slotted nozzle housing, a nozzle tip seated on the nozzle core, and a nozzle tip seal seated on the nozzle tip. Furthermore, the present invention is a quick assembly hot runner nozzle design. The present nozzle design provides for the easy installation and removal of the nozzle by means of turning and sliding the nozzle. This provides for easy installation or removal of the nozzle when servicing the mold in the machine and without the complete disassembly of the hot runner mold. The seal located on the nozzle tip seals the tip area to avoid plastic leakage. Positioning the seal closer to the gate area also contributes in increased nozzle tip mass thus resulting in a better heat distribution profile along the nozzle tip, and especially in the area closer to the gate.
