  • Publication number: 20090013516
Abstract: A method of repairing a damaged portion of an underground pipeline positioned within a subterranean formation below the surface of the earth and having a flowbore. In some embodiments, the method includes inserting one or more pipe sections into the flowbore, the one or more pipe sections coupled and forming a throughpassage, positioning the one or more pipe sections within a damaged portion of the pipeline, disposing an expansion device within the throughpassage, and displacing the expansion device along the throughpassage, wherein the one or more pipe sections are radially expanded into engagement with at least the damaged portion of the pipeline.

  • Publication number: 20080094323
Abstract: Image display apparatus comprising two or more arrays of light sources is described. Each array is rotatable around a common axis, and the light sources in each array are arranged so that each light source traverses along a unique path around the common axis. A controller is adapted to modulate the intensity of light emitted by each light source as it traverses its respective unique path such that the light sources in combination cause a desired image to be visible to an observer by virtue of persistence of vision.

  • Patent number: 7287796
Abstract: A cargo net assembly for a vehicle is described that includes a storage receptacle. The storage receptacle is mounted to the inside of the roof of the vehicle. Pivotable doors may be opened to allow the net to be lowered with a base plate into a use position. The base plate is held in place when deployed by right and left anchors. A latch assembly is provided to latch the doors in their closed position. The latch assembly is opened by a dual cable acting upon dual bell crank cams.

  • Publication number: 20070198782
Abstract: A memory controller for accessing a memory module comprising a plurality of memory banks. The memory controller is operable to write copies of program data to one or more memory banks according to the size of the program data. The memory controller is additionally operable to read program data, e.g. in response to an access request, from whichever memory bank is next available for access.

  • Publication number: 20070158390
Abstract: Tubular ends are heated to a predetermined temperature above 1200 degrees Celsius and surrounded by a shield gas when the tubular ends are pressed together to form forge welded tubular ends. The forge welded tubular ends are then cooled down rapidly from said temperature above 1200 to at most 600 degrees Celsius within 3 minutes after the forge welding operation.

  • Publication number: 20060087448
Abstract: An improved method of permanently marking the location of a tubular joint, the method including creating a cavity into the end surface of one of the tubular ends that are to be joined by a forge weld or screw thread connection, inserting a marker into said cavity and subsequently joining the tubular ends.

  • Publication number: 20050236372
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for forge welding tubulars such that formation of upsets in the welding zone is minimized which involves shaping the tubular ends that are to be welded together into an inwardly sloping configuration such that when the tubular ends are heated during the forge welding process the heated tubular ends deform as a result of thermal expansion into a substantially longitudinally oriented cylindrical shape.

  • Publication number: 20050225083
Abstract: A pipe system for transport of corrosive fluids, such as crude oil or natural gas, having a corrosion-prone tubular member, which is coated with an inner corrosion-resistant lining. The tubular member and inner lining provide a flat end in a plane orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the tubular member, which flat end is connected to a flat end of a threaded tubular coupling member having a corrosion-resistant inner surface and screw thread. The corrosion-prone tubular member coated with the corrosion-resistant lining may be manufactured in long lengths and cut into a desired lengths whereupon each coupling member may be welded to the flat end of said tubular member and lining in a single butt welding operation.

  • Publication number: 20050092715
Abstract: A method for interconnecting tubulars by forge welding involves arranging the tubular ends that are to be interconnected at a distance, up to a few millimeters from each other in a shield gas chamber, into which a reducing non-explosive flushing fluid mixture (e.g. N2+H2) is injected; heating each tubular end within the space by means of at least three electrodes that are pressed at circumferentially spaced intervals against the wall of each tubular, adjacent to the tubular end such that a high frequency electrical current is transmitted in a substantially circumferential direction through the tubular segments between the electrodes; and moving the thus uniformly heated tubular ends towards each other until a forge weld is formed between the heated tubular ends.

  • Publication number: 20050050726
Abstract: A method of joining expandable tubulars includes joining the tubulars by forge welding and flushing a reducing flushing gas around the heated tubular ends during at least part of the forge welding operation such that oxides are removed from the forge welded tubular ends and the amount of irregularities between the forge welded tubular ends is limited.
