  • Publication number: 20160053050
Abstract: Polyester polyols made from thermoplastic polyesters are disclosed. The polyols are reaction products of a thermoplastic polyester, a glycol, and a hydrophobe selected from ricinoleic acid, ethoxylated castor oil, saturated or unsaturated C9-C18 dicarboxylic acids, tung oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, cardanol-based products, recycled cooking oil, isostearyl alcohol, hydroxy-functional materials derived from epoxidized, ozonized, or hydroformylated fatty esters or fatty acids, and mixtures thereof. In one process, the polyols are made by reacting the thermoplastic polyester with a glycol to give a digested intermediate, which is then reacted with the hydrophobe. In another process, the thermoplastic polyester, glycol, and hydrophobe are combined and reacted in a single step. These hydrophobes facilitate the production from recycled thermoplastics of polyols that have good transparency and little or no particulate settling or phase separation.

  • Publication number: 20160053058
Abstract: The present invention relates to polyester polyols made from aromatic polyacid sources such as thermoplastic polyesters. The polyols can be made by heating a thermoplastic polyester such as virgin polyethylene terephthalate, recycled polyethylene terephthalate, or mixtures thereof, with a glycol to give a digested intermediate which is then reacted with a digestible polymer, which can be obtained from various recycle waste streams. The polyester polyols comprise a glycol-digested polyacid source and a further digestible polymer. The polyester polyols provide a sustainable alternative to petrochemical or biochemical based polyester polyols.

  • Patent number: 9235325
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein are directed to persona management within a user's single and unified online identity, including defining a plurality of personas for a single identity, the single identity comprising a plurality of personal attributes, associating each of the defined personas with at least one of the plurality of personal attributes, separating the plurality of personas associated with the single identity based on the at least one of the plurality of personal attributes, selecting one of the personas to use in an online interaction with an online application, and controlling access of the online application to the associated at least one of the personal attributes, based on whether the selected one of the plurality of personas corresponds to the online application.

  • Publication number: 20150344622
Abstract: Polyester polyols made from thermoplastic polyesters are disclosed. The polyols can be made by heating a thermoplastic polyester such as virgin PET, recycled PET, or mixtures thereof, with a glycol to give a digested intermediate, which is then condensed with a dimer fatty acid to give the polyol. The invention includes a polyester polyol comprising recurring units of a glycol-digested thermoplastic polyester and a dimer fatty acid. The polyester polyol can also be made in a single step by reacting the thermoplastic polyester, glycol, and dimer acid under conditions effective to produce the polyol. High-recycle-content polyols having desirable properties and attributes for formulating polyurethane products, including aqueous polyurethane dispersions, can be made. The polyols provide a sustainable alternative to bio- or petrochemical-based polyols.

  • Publication number: 20150315325
Abstract: The presently disclosed and/or claimed inventive concept(s) relates generally to oligomeric reaction products formed by the depolymerization of polyethylene terephthalate polymers and methods thereof. More specifically, the presently disclosed and/or claimed inventive concept(s) relates to oligomeric reaction products formed by the depolymerization of polyethylene terephthalate polymer obtained from, for example but not by way of limitation, waste products, such as beverage containers made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The oligomeric reaction products can, in one embodiment, be used as a starting material for polyurethanes. The presently disclosed and/or claimed inventive concept(s) also relates to processes for producing oligomeric reaction products from the depolymerization of polyethylene terephthalate.

  • Publication number: 20150231011
Abstract: Described are surgical drapes and system with universal application to heavy equipment useful in operating room environments. Surgical drape systems of the invention are particularly capable of covering patient support machinery such as hoists, lifts, and slings, whether the equipment is mobile or stationary, or configured as a floor-based or as an overhead support/lifting system. The drapes of the current invention provide for protecting the equipment from exposure to surgical biohazard waste e.g.; blood or body fluids, as well as providing the ability to use equipment that is otherwise not presently allowed to enter into an operating room because of the impossibility to render such equipment sterile. The drapes further allow for the holding, lifting and positioning of the patient whole body or limbs while maintaining sterility during prepping and surgical procedures. Also included are support slings for use with the drapes.

  • Publication number: 20150057810
Abstract: This application relates to a building energy analysis and management system for measurement and verification of building performance. The system can analyze, optimize, manage, maintain, trouble shoot, and/or modify building systems, such as HVAC systems, in connection with the building energy usage. Measurements may be gathered for one or more HVAC units coupled to pressure independent valves, and sent to one or more Surge Panels that pass data to remote analysis servers, which can receive other system or external data. The analysis servers compare measurements to predicted values and can standardize the predicted values to account for external conditions. The comparison can result in difference values used to generate probable causes and optimization recommendations. The system outputs reports or other data display using a graphical user interface that can be adjusted for an anticipated user.

  • Patent number: 8403589
Abstract: A paint gun assembly including a spray head and a connecting manifold. The spray head includes a bore terminating in a radially extending space of gradually increasing radius. The bore receives a shaft that has an axially extending bore which connects with radially extending bores in which balls are contained. The shaft also contains a plunger with a rounded end, engaging the balls. When forced into the axial bore, the plunger forces the balls into the radially extending bores and out into the tapered, radially extending space. The plunger engages a cam which is exposed at a surface of the manifold body and includes a hexagon drive to adjust the angular rotation of the cam using a suitable key. The manifold body provides a recess for receiving a retaining pin, whose end is received in the cam guide profile. Axial movement of the cam is resisted by a compression spring.
