  • Patent number: 11959990
Abstract: An MRI phantom for calibrated anisotropic imaging includes a plurality of separate sheathed taxons or integral taxons sharing common taxon walls, wherein each taxon has an inner diameter of less than 5 microns. The taxons form taxon filaments that are combined to form taxon ribbons. The taxons may have an average inner diameter of less than 1 micron, specifically about 0.8 microns with a packing density of about 1,000,000 per square millimeter. The filaments may include structural features such as an outer frame and crossing support ribs and may further include a visible alignment feature that allows for verifying orientation of an individual filament. The taxons may be formed as taxon fibers manufactured using a bi or tri-component textile/polymer manufacturing process. An anisotropic homogeneity phantom may include frame members that support fiber tracks extending in orthogonal directions, wherein each fiber track is formed of taxons.

  • Patent number: 11828490
Abstract: An appliance for heating fluid includes a reservoir for holding the fluid during use. One or more ceramic heaters mount with the reservoir to heat the fluid. The heater includes electrically resistive traces thick-film printed on a substrate. The heaters optionally mount with a heat transfer element having a relatively large surface area. The heat transfer element typifies a conductive element, such as an aluminum plate of forged aluminum. The plate has cavities to retain the heaters or sections fitted about heaters. Holes through a thickness of the plate induce turbulent fluid flow as the fluid freely passes there through during use. Heater control and mounting are still other aspects of the technology.

  • Patent number: 10618720
Abstract: A shoe container stool with a deployable footrest is described herein. The shoe container is in the form of a box having a front wall, a back wall, two side walls, and a top lid. The front wall includes a vertical elongated opening bounded by two side edges and a bottom edge. An elongated board is pivotally connected to the opening by way of an axle to permit the board to be pivoted into and out of the opening. A top portion of the board above the axle may therefore be deployed from the opening to be used as a footrest to help don and doff one's shoes, while the top lid may be used as a seat. The shoe container further includes a shelf inside the box to counter the forces applied to the footrest and also permits a user to store one's shoe inside the shoe container.

  • Patent number: 10289024
Abstract: A method for estimating an amount of toner remaining in a reservoir of a replaceable unit for an image forming device according to one example embodiment includes receiving by processing circuitry pulses from a magnetic sensor. Each pulse is indicative that the magnetic sensor detected a magnet on a moving paddle positioned in the reservoir. The processing circuitry counts the number of the pulses received from the magnetic sensor. Upon receiving a request from a controller of the image forming device, the processing circuitry sends to the controller of the image forming device the count of the pulses received from the magnetic sensor and resets the count of the pulses received from the magnetic sensor.

  • Patent number: 9703234
Abstract: A toner cartridge for an electrophotographic image forming device according to one example embodiment includes a housing having a reservoir for storing toner. A rotatable drive shaft is positioned within the reservoir. A partition is mounted on the drive shaft and axially movable along the drive shaft when the drive shaft rotates. The partition divides the reservoir into a first compartment for storing fresh toner and a second compartment for storing waste toner. An expandable agitator is positioned within the second compartment and rotatable with the drive shaft. When the drive shaft rotates and the partition moves along the drive shaft expanding a volume of the second compartment, the agitator expands along a length of the drive shaft and rotates with the drive shaft for agitating waste toner in the second compartment.
