  • Publication number: 20100126215
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the cryogenic separation, the cooling or the liquefaction of a fluid using an exchange line, that comprises extracting from said exchange line at least one dual phase fluid (11), separating said dual phase fluid into at least one vapour fraction (4) and one liquid fraction (5) in a phase separator (40), expanding at least one portion of the liquid fraction (5) using a first expansion means (60, 90), reinjecting, reheating and at least partially vaporising said expanded liquid fraction in the exchange line, the first expansion means being a valve, wherein during the cooling of said exchange line, at least a fraction of the fluid extracted from the exchange line (2, 4 or 5) and/or from the phase separator (40) is expanded in second expansion means (61, 71, 81, 91) parallel to the first expansion means (6), while during a normal operation, the second expansion means is essentially closed.

  • Publication number: 20080308769
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for simultaneously producing hydrogen and carbon monoxide consisting in generating a synthesis gas and in processing it by decarbonising and removing water and remaining carbon dioxide by passing said gas through a bed of adsorbents, in separating remaining components by forming at least one H2-rich flow, a CO flow containing at least one type of impurity selected from nitrogen and argon, a methane-rich purge gas flow and a flash gas flow. The inventive method also consists in regenerating the bed of adsorbents by passing a regeneration gas comprising at least one non-zero proportion of the formed H2flow and in recycling at least the purge and flash gases for feeding the synthesis gas generation stage.

  • Patent number: 7464012
Abstract: Process simulators, including a novel process simulator that utilizes simplified mathematical correlations to predict the performance of equipment or subsystems in a process unit. The process simulator comprises a process correlation that is a mathematical response model for a discrete process system in a process unit. The process correlation is developed by obtaining operating data over a range of operating conditions of the process unit and regressing the operating data to form the mathematical response model. The process simulator calculates a number of output parameters using a number of input parameters. The process simulator outputs the output parameters so they can be used by operating personnel to evaluate the current operations of the process plant and make operating decisions.

  • Patent number: 7380413
Abstract: A method for simultaneously producing hydrogen and carbon monoxide by subjecting synthesis gas to a decarbonation in a decarbonation unit, and to desiccation in a desiccation unit. After the decarbonation and the desiccation, the remaining synthesis gas components are cryogenically separated and a hydrogen-enriched gas is recycled upstream from the decarbonation unit and downstream from synthesis gas producing unit.

  • Publication number: 20050232854
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for simultaneously producing hydrogen and carbon monoxide, whereby the synthesis gas is subjected to decarbonatation in a decarbonatation unit (2), and to desiccation in a desiccation unit (5). The remaining constituents are cryogenically separated and a hydrogen-enriched gas (7, 19, 21) is recycled upstream from the decarbonatation unit and downstream from a unit for producing synthesis gas (F).
