  • Publication number: 20110098684
Abstract: A catheter device for the control of liquid discharge from the urinary bladder, and its use, is described. The catheter device is an elongated flexible tube of elastic material having an inlet opening at a distal end thereof and one or more inflatable balloons secured about the tube spaced from the inlet opening. The balloon retains the catheter at a predetermined position within the urethra while preventing urine to flow about the catheter below the balloon. The tube is provided with a numbered scale printed in a predetermined proximal end portion of the tube to provide a visual indication to a user person of the length of the catheter inserted in the urethra to permit the positioning of the one or more balloons at a desired location in the urethra below the bladder during repetitive removal and insertion of the catheter.

  • Publication number: 20100331608
Abstract: A surgically implantable urethra pressure control valve is described. It comprises a clamp having a pair of spaced-apart clamping arms. A urethra passage is defined between the clamping arms. At least one of the clamping arms is a displaceable clamping arm movable towards the other clamping arm to a predetermined position spaced from the other clamping arm a distance sufficient to pinch and close an inner passage of the urethra when disposed in the urethra passage whereby to arrest the flow of urine. An actuator is provided to effect the displacement of the displaceable clamping arm. The actuator may be a remote control to operate the valve or an implanted sphincter to apply a closing pressure upon the urethra.

The enclosed snow melting chamber has a water collecting reservoir in a lower portion thereof below a bottom wall of the snow melting chamber. The bottom wall has passages to channel water from the snow melting chamber to the water collecting reservoir. The vehicle body has a front entry opening communicating with the snow melting chamber and an auger screw is mounted in the front entry opening to eject snow inside a forward end of the snow melting chamber. Snow propelling wheels are secured along at least a front end portion of the snow melting chamber to propel snow ejected from the auger along the snow melting chamber for contact by the high pressure steam to melt the snow. An outlet evacuating valve is provided to evacuate water collected in the water collecting reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20090018385
Abstract: A surgically implantable urethra pressure control adjustable valve for male and female patients is described. The valve comprises a clamp positionable about a urethra in a patient's body. The clamp has a circumferential wall having a first and a second opening. The openings are oppositely spaced apart at predetermined locations to provide for the passage of the urethra through the circumferential wall. A pressure abutment element is provided inside the circumferential wall and disposed between an inner wall surface of the circumferential wall and the urethra and actuable to apply a contained control pressure against the urethra to close the urethra by pinching same against a diametrically opposed immovable abutment element formed in the circumferential wall and projecting inwardly therein.

The post receiving channel is transversely oriented with respect to a support surface of the shelf and has a vertical opening facing inwardly of the shelf. The post has spaced-apart arresting formations on an outer wall portion thereof. A clamp is provided and has a clamping jaw with one or more connecting formations for interlocking with the arresting formations of the post. A latch urges the clamping jaw against an inner wall portion of the support post which projects in the vertical opening of the post receiving channels whereby the one or more connecting formations engage with the one or more arresting formations. The latch maintains a constant locking pressure against the clamping jaw to immovably secure the shelf to the support post at a desired position.

  • Patent number: 6712371
Abstract: An all-terrain bicycle is comprised of a tubular frame defined by a main frame section and a front fork and a pair of rear forks, to which is removably secured a front and a rear wheel. The wheels are formed of plastics material and define a hub, a circular outer molded solid tire, and an intermediate connecting framework. The outer molded solid tire is a one-piece tire defining, when viewed in transverse cross-section, a central projecting dome merging into opposed tapered wings which are recessed from the top of the dome. An integrally molded connecting formation is provided under the dome to secure to a rim of the connecting framework. The dome defines a circumferential central rib around the outer molded tire for the displacement of the bicycle on a hard surface with the wings spaced from the hard surface. The wings constitute a wide tire support surface, together with the central rib, for the displacement of the bicycle on soft surfaces such as sand, grass, etc.
