  • Patent number: 4056080
Abstract: Powdered fuel charges are injected mechanically into a pocket in the piston during a first half of a compression stroke for subsequent expulsion into the combustion chamber during the second half of the compression stroke. The dosing and ejecting means is mounted in the cylinder wall and includes a plunger which ejects the fuel charges from a duct. Movement of the plunger in the duct is cyclically blocked by a slider during filling of the duct with a fuel charge.

    Assignee: Sulzer Brothers Limited
    Inventors: Peter Rutz, Anton Steiger
  • Patent number: 4056042
Abstract: The hydrostatic piston machine has a smooth cylindrical pintle which is fixedly mounted in the housing and on which a cylinder block is rotatably mounted. The guide member for the pistons is eccentrically mounted about the pintle and has means thereon for supplying and/or taking off the torque of the machine. The eccentricity of this guide member is adjusted by a movable guide means within the housing. This guide means is controlled by the pressure mdium flowing through the machine.

  • Patent number: 4052963
Abstract: Particulate solid fuel, e.g. powdered coal, is delivered into a first duct of the housing inserted into the cylinder, and thereafter moved into a second duct via a control slider. A plunger in the second duct is controlled hydraulically to move the delivered fuel through the discharge openings of a rotating ejector body when the body is in an open position in the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 4041844
Abstract: The guide means for reciprocating the pistons of the cylinder block are mounted on rings which have bearing surfaces eccentric to the surface on which the cylinder block rotates. These rings are also of a diameter greater than the diameter of the surface on which the cylinder block rotates by at least twice the eccentricity of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4006668
Abstract: The machine has a cylindrical pin mounted at each end in a guide device which is movable so as to change the eccentricity of the guide member axis relative to the pin axis. The guide member is connected over a toothing to a shaft for receiving or taking off power. The toothing can be formed on the outer periphery of the guide member or on a gearwheel secured to a side of the guide member. The guide device may either be of a pivotal type or a slidable type.

  • Patent number: 3945303
Abstract: The bearing surface of each piston is provided with hydrostatic pressure medium during operation to maintain the axis of the piston perpendicular to the guide surface. The pressure medium is supplied through throttle passages which terminate in feed openings at the corners or at uniformly distributed points remote from the piston axis. Cooperating guide ledges are also provided on each foot and on the guide member to prevent the piston bearing surfaces from falling away from their respective guide surfaces of the guide member.
