  • Publication number: 20200325056
Abstract: A system and process for forming a curved glass laminate article is provided. The process and system utilizes co-sagging of a stack of glass sheets of different thicknesses and different glass materials. During co-sagging the thicker glass layer is placed on top of the thinner glass layer. In this process, shape mismatch is avoided by selecting/controlling the glass materials of the sheets of glass such that the viscosity of the lower, thinner sheet during co-sagging is greater than the viscosity of the thicker glass sheet.

  • Publication number: 20200299175
Abstract: A process and system for forming a curved glass article from a sheet of glass material is provided. The process and system includes supporting a glass sheet on a shaping frame and then heating the sheet of glass material while supported by the shaping frame such that the central region of the sheet of glass material deforms into an open central cavity of the bending frame. The process and/or system are configured such that a steep, localized temperature differential is formed in the region adjacent the outer edge of the glass sheet during the heating stage of the shaping process.

  • Patent number: 10764591
Abstract: A video encoder receives a minimum number of bits (MIN) and a maximum number of bits (MAX) to be used to encode a segment of a sequence of image frames, the segment including a set of pictures contained in the sequence of image frames. The video encoder encodes the set of pictures using a total number of bits greater than the minimum number of bits (MIN), and not exceeding the maximum number of bits (MAX). Thus, the transmission bit-rate of the video encoder can be constrained to lie within a maximum and minimum rate. In an embodiment, the constraints are enforced over relatively short time intervals.

  • Publication number: 20200262733
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to a method of controlling the flow of fluid, such as air, between a stack of glass sheets during a co-sagging process. In embodiments, this involves a particular method and certain mechanical means of applying force at or near the edges and/or corners of a stack of glass sheets during a co-sagging process. In other embodiments, this involves creating low pressure regions at or near the edges and/or corners during the co-sagging process. In particular, controlling the flow of fluid between glass sheets is particularly suitable for preventing shape mismatch between two glass sheets having different thicknesses and/or compositions.

  • Publication number: 20200227267
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for forming integrated circuit structures having a plurality of semiconductor fins, which in turn can be used to form non-planar transistor structures. The techniques include a mid-process removal of one or more partially-formed fins. The resulting integrated circuit structure includes a plurality of semiconductor fins having relatively uniform dimensions (e.g., fin width and trough depth). In an embodiment, the fin forming procedure includes partially forming a plurality of fins, using a selective etch stop built into the semiconductor structure in which the fins are being formed. One or more of the partially-formed fins are removed via sacrificial fin cut mask layer(s). After fin removal, the process continues by further etching trenches between the partially-formed fins (deep etch) to form portion of fins that will ultimately include transistor channel portion. A liner material may be deposited to protect the partially-formed fins during this subsequent deep trench etch.

The process and system includes supporting a glass sheet on a shaping frame and then heating the sheet of glass material while supported by the shaping frame such that the central region of the sheet of glass material deforms into an open central cavity of the bending frame. The process and/or system are configured such that an aspect of the heating experienced by an outer region of the sheet of glass material is less than an aspect of the heating experienced by the central region of the sheet of glass material. The aspect of heating may be the average temperature, the maximum temperature and/or the heating rate, which Applicant believes may reduce certain defects during the shaping operation.

  • Publication number: 20190114683
Abstract: A system and method to determine and accept discount for a plurality of invoices, has been described. Initially, a vendor request is received to initiate a bidding session to place a bid for earlier processing of the plurality of pending invoices by a consumer. Based on the received vendor request, a discount is determined for each of the plurality of invoices based on at least one of a vendor information, the consumer information, and a bidding pattern in previous session. Next the plurality of invoices and the determined discount corresponding to the plurality of pending invoices are displayed to the consumer. Finally, one or more pending invoices from the plurality of pending invoices are auto-selected based on at least one of the vendor information, the consumer information, and the bidding session specific information.

  • Patent number: 9979638
Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to software defined networking (SDN) and, more particularly, to a system and method to construct an engineering environment for API enablement in Software defined networking. The system enables the device use SDN functionality by designing an API model specific to that device. In order to design the device specific API model, an API enablement system initially leverages functionality/capabilities of the device. Further, by analyzing the leveraged device capabilities, the system designs the API model for the device. After implementing the API model on the device, the system performs a review function to ensure that the designed API model is in compliance with set rules and policies. The API model may be refined based on results of the review function.
