The UE includes a processor configured to for the SS/PBCH block of the index i, determine a slot index n0 as a sum of an offset value and [i*M]. The offset value is determined based on a first value O determined according to the index indicated in the MIB, wherein the index configures PDCCH monitoring occasions, and a second value ? indicated in the MIB, wherein the second value ? represents a subcarrier spacing configuration, wherein M is a positive number determined according to the index indicated in the MIB, and cause the transceiver to decode a PDCCH in the slot index n0.

A method for operating a user equipment (UE) includes determining a maximum number of resource elements (REs) of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) for multiplexing first hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) information. The maximum number of REs is determined by scaling, with a factor, a total number of REs available for multiplexing the first HARQ-ACK information in the PUSCH. The PUSCH has a first priority value. The factor has a first value when the first HARQ-ACK information has the first priority value. The factor has a second value when the first HARQ-ACK information has a second priority value. The method further includes multiplexing the first HARQ-ACK information in the PUSCH over a number of REs that is smaller than or equal to the maximum number of REs and transmitting the PUSCH.

The UE is also configured to determine an indication to either receive the PDCCHs when the PDCCH reception occasion does not overlap with an extended Active Time of the second DRX cycle or to suspend reception of the PDCCHs when the PDCCH reception occasion overlaps with the extended Active Time of the second DRX cycle.
