  • Patent number: 4352223
Abstract: A web crushing arrangement for a card web comprises cooperating working rolls (6,7) which are supported by a pressure-loadable support member (23), elastic pressure transmitting means (26,29) being provided between the working roll (7) and the support member (23). By supplying compressed air between the surface of the working roll (7) and the pressing surface (27), of the pressing slat (26) facing and shaped to be complementary to it, an air film is generated between the complementary surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4280260
Abstract: A process for introducing one or more threads into a texturizing nozzle, in which the texturizing nozzle, together with the inlet member, is first brought into a position in which the thread is led transversely past and in the immediate vicinity of the texturizing nozzle, the thread is sucked against the nozzle with the orifice of the inlet member enlarged, immediately after being sucked against the texturizing nozzle the thread is cut beyond the nozzle so that the cut end is sucked back into the nozzle, the suction supply required for the sucking-in is replaced by pressurized fluid texturizing medium, and the cross-section of the inlet orifice of the texturizing device is reduced to a value advantageous for steady state operation.

  • Patent number: 4238921
Abstract: Method and apparatus for cooling of a thread between a heating device and false twist spindle of a texturing machine. A part of the cooling medium (30) is guided in the direction of the thread transport and another part is guided against the direction of the thread transport through parts of a duct (11). The duct (11) is provided with rectangular chambers (14), arranged mutually offset, causing repeated flow of the cooling medium (30) across the thread (1) under vigorous vortex formation.

  • Patent number: 4005302
Abstract: A heatable drawroll for drawtwisting, draw-winding and spin-draw winding machines includes a stationary induction heating coil having a core and mounted within rotatable metal jacket. A sleeve of heat and electrical insulating material is stationarily disposed inside the jacket in radially spaced relation to the jacket and the coil to circumferentially surround the coil and form an intermediate space therewith for receiving a coolant for cooling the coil. Means are provided for supplying coolant to and removing coolant from the intermediate space. A second coolant space can also be formed between the coil and the core and be connected with the first space via coolant ducts through the coil. The sleeve may be porous so as to allow some of the coolant to flow therethrough and impinge on the inner surface of the jacket.
