  • Patent number: 10438812
Abstract: The systems and methods described herein use at least one etchant and at least one photochemically active material in conjunction with electromagnetic energy applied simultaneous with the etchant and photochemically active material during the etching process. The interaction between the electromagnetic energy and the photochemically active material preferentially increases the etch rate in a direction along the axis of incidence of the electromagnetic energy, thereby permitting the anisotropic formation of voids within the semiconductor substrate. These anisotropic voids may be more closely spaced (i.e., arranged on a tighter pitch) than the isotropic voids produced using conventional etching technologies. By placing the voids in the semiconductor substrate on a tighter pitch, greater component density may be achieved.

  • Patent number: 10397803
Abstract: A cellular communications network may be configured to leverage a millimeter wave (mmW) mesh network. Base stations may be configured to operate as mmW base stations (tnBs). Such base stations may be configured to participate in the mmW mesh network and to access the cellular communications network (e.g., via cellular access links). A network device of the cellular communications network (e.g., an eNB) may operate as a control entity with respect to one or more niBs. Such a network device may govern mesh backhaul routing with respect to the cellular communications network and the mmW mesh network. Such a network device may configure the mmW mesh network, for example by performing a process to join a new mB to the mmW mesh network. A WTRU may send and receive control information via a cellular access fink and may send and receive data via the mmW mesh network.

  • Patent number: 10382992
Abstract: Techniques may be used for interference measurement and management in directional mesh networks, including centralized and/or distributed approaches. A centralized node, such as an operations and maintenance (OAM) center, may use feedback from nodes in the mesh network to partition the nodes in the mesh network into clusters based on interference levels. Interference measurement reports may be used by the centralized node to update cluster membership. An initiating node in the mesh network may use topographical information to generate an initial interference cluster, and interference measurement frame (IMF) scheduling information may be used to schedule transmissions within the interference clusters. Techniques for opportunistic measurement campaigns, simultaneous measurement campaigns, link failure detection, and link re-acquisition in directional mesh networks may also be used.

  • Patent number: 10321347
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described. A long term evolution (LTE) base station includes a processor and a transceiver, which transmit first LTE data to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) using LTE frequencies. The LTE data is at a time defined by LTE transmission time interval (TTI) boundaries. The processor maps an LTE class of second LTE data to an access class associated with IEEE 802.11e access and transmits the second LTE data to the WTRU using an IEEE 802.11 associated frequency. A transmission time of the second LTE data is based on an LTE TTI boundary after sensing that an IEEE 802.11 associated frequency is not busy.

  • Publication number: 20190165890
Abstract: Latency reduction by fast forward (FF) in multi-hop communication device and/or systems is disclosed. Packets may be received and forwarded using a codeword (CW)-based approach with and/or without per-CW CRC. A FF session may have a flow ID and packets may have sequence numbers. Packets targeted for FF may be divided into independently decodable CWs that may be transmitted in the next hop, for example, as soon as the destination is determined without waiting for an entire packet's arrival and/or for CRC verification. Low latency (e.g. FF) traffic may be indicated. CW-based FF may be extensible for an e2e RAN path from a WTRU to the last access node in a RAN. Intermediate metrics, a packet CRC and/or a per-CW CRC may be utilized for data integrity. HARQ and/or CW retransmission procedures may be implemented between network nodes for error handling.

  • Patent number: 10228932
Abstract: An example method facilitates verifying behaviors, functionality, and user interface display screens of a post-upgrade software system by comparing output thereof with a pre-upgrade software system. The example method includes accepting a first signal from a user input device to identify, at least in part, a first set of pre-upgrade output data items from the pre-upgrade software system; accepting a second signal from a user input device to identify, at least in part, a second set of corresponding post-upgrade output data items from the post-upgrade software system; and performing a consistency validation check between corresponding output data items in the first set and the second set. Accordingly, output data items in an upgraded system are readily validated against a pre-upgrade system. Plugins, as part of an upgrade verification tool, may implement specific tests. This enables enterprise software customers to automate their on-premise upgrade validation processes and to choose tests.

  • Publication number: 20190028156
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for communication in a Millimeter Wave Hotspot (mmH) backhaul system which uses mesh nodes. A mmH mesh node may receive a control signal which includes a total number of available control slots. The mesh node may determine the number of iterations of a resource scheduling mechanism that can be made during the time period of all available control slots, based on the number of neighbor nodes for the mesh node. Further, the mesh node may receive control slot information, including information about traffic queues and priorities. The mesh node may then perform resource scheduling using the resource scheduling mechanism based on the currently received control slot information and control slot information received in previous iterations of resource scheduling. The mesh node may also adjust a preamble based on a time between a last packet transmission and a current packet transmission to a neighboring node.
