  • Publication number: 20240042953
Abstract: Particular embodiments described herein provide for a system and method to help prevent condensation inside an enclosure that includes an electronic system. The system and method can determine a current relative humidity of an environment inside an enclosure that houses the electronic system, use the current relative humidity and the current maximum temperature to determine a dew point for the environment inside the enclosure, activate one or more heating elements inside the enclosure when the current minimum temperature is the same or lower than the dew point for the environment inside the enclosure, activate one or more embedded fans, and open one or more vents to help purge moisture out of the system during heating. When the current minimum temperature is higher than the dew point for the environment inside the enclosure, the system and method can allow the electronic system to power on.

  • Patent number: 11886594
Abstract: The disclosed method is performed by a cloud system for changing a registration of a network access device. The method includes initiating a change of a registration of a network access device. The registration is stored at a cloud system and indicates ownership of the network access device by a first user. The method further includes receiving an authorization from the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device by the first user, and receiving an indication of a physical reset occurring locally at the network access device. The physical reset allows the first user to dissociate the ownership of the network access device. The method further includes, upon receiving both the authorization by the first user and the indication of the physical reset, releasing the ownership by the first user of the network access device at the cloud system.

  • Publication number: 20240004192
Abstract: A head up display (HUD) with improved resistance to sunload for use in a vehicle comprising an image generating device, an LCD assembly, an optical bonding assembly, and a fold mirror, with specific design countermeasures to combat damage caused to an LCD by heat from sunlight. These include an OB glass and cold mirror film (CMF) as components of the optical bonding assembly, a hot mirror coating and a polarized film as components of the LCD assembly, and a cold mirror coating on the fold mirror. When sunlight enters the HUD, the cold mirror coating reflects only visible light towards the LCD. The hot mirror coating reflects infrared and ultraviolet wavelengths of light away from the LCD. The polarized film cuts p-polarized light. The OB glass and CMF increase the specific heat of the HUD. The HUD thereby reduces sunload that would otherwise damage the LCD due to heat stress.

  • Publication number: 20230418106
Abstract: A local dimming system for a head up display (HUD) according to the present invention comprises a light array, a Fresnel lens array, a lenticular lens system, and a liquid crystal display (LCD). The Fresnel lens array is operatively associated with the light array to provide a collimated backlight output to produce an image on the LCD. The Fresnel lens array focuses light from the light array while reflecting stray light, eliminating light bleed and reducing or eliminating a display-boundary or “postcard effect.” The Fresnel lens array is compact to enable HUD packaging necessary to configure the HUD for use in vehicles, while also removing the need for reflectors which create shadows on the LCD.
