  • Patent number: 11832328
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques provide for detecting when a control link between a user equipment (UE) and a base station is lost and recovering the control link. In one example, a UE may detect that a control link with a base station is lost based on a timer or counter expiring or based on failing to receive signaling from the base station. In another example, a UE may be configured to transmit uplink transmissions to a base station to maintain a control link with the base station, and the base station may detect that a control link with the UE is lost if the base station fails to receive one or more uplink transmissions from the UE. If the control link is lost, the base station and the UE may communicate to re-establish the control link.

  • Publication number: 20230379755
Abstract: Method and apparatus for BSR and scheduling grant for target UE in sidelink relay. The apparatus receives a request for sidelink communication from a target UE. The apparatus receives a first BSR from the target UE via the sidelink communication. The apparatus transmits a second BSR to a network entity, the second BSR comprising information corresponding to at least one of the first BSR of the target UE or a sidelink BSR for the relay UE. The apparatus receives an allocation of resources for the sidelink communication with the target UE based on the second BSR. The apparatus communicates via the sidelink communication with the target UE using the allocation of resources.

  • Patent number: 11824701
Abstract: A phase tracking reference signal (PT-RS) may be transmitted to enable a receiver to correct phase noise in wireless communication. A UE scheduled for one PDSCH with DMRS ports in two or more DMRS CDM groups that are associated with two TCI states may be configured for PT-RS using two PT-RS ports. Therefore, rather than limiting PT-RS to a single port, the PT-RS may be transmitted to the UE using two PT-RS ports. The apparatus transmits a capability indication for more than one PT-RS port for receiving a downlink shared channel based on a first TCI and a second TCI. The apparatus receives a configuration for a maximum number of downlink PT-RS ports from a base station.

  • Publication number: 20230370864
Abstract: Mechanisms for directional channel occupancy monitoring for a frequency band among multiple networks are provided. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes monitoring, in a shared frequency band in a plurality of beam directions, for signals associated with one or more wireless networks different from the first wireless network. The monitoring includes: detecting, in the shared frequency band and in at least a first beam direction of the plurality of beam directions, a first signal associated with a second wireless network; and up-dating a channel occupancy list to indicate that at least a portion of the shared frequency band is occupied in at least the first beam direction. The method also includes transmitting, in the shared frequency band, a second signal in a second beam direction of the plurality of beam directions based on the channel occupancy list.

  • Patent number: 11818069
Abstract: A UE configured to report resources, such as beams, to a base station may be unaware of the context or purpose for which the UE is reporting such resources. As different resources may provide different performance and/or quality when used in different contexts, the resources reported by the UE may provide lower quality and/or performance in one context relative to some other unreported resources. In order to improve resource reporting by the UE, the UE may be informed of an operational mode and/or a criteria based upon which the UE may select resources to report. The UE may report such selected resources to the base station in a group-based beam report. The base station may then configure communication with the UE based on the reported resources.

  • Patent number: 11818740
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a set of synchronization signal block (SSB) configurations for a corresponding set of frequency resource sets configured for communications in a shared frequency spectrum band. The UE may perform a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure for each frequency resource set. If an LBT procedure is successful, the UE may select and communicate with a base station on the corresponding frequency resource sets. Accordingly, the UE may receive one or more SSBs from the base station on the selected frequency resource sets based on SSB configurations, which may indicate a floating or fixed configuration for SSBs. The UE may perform radio resource management (RRM) and radio link monitoring based on receiving the SSBs in one or more of the selected frequency resource sets according to the corresponding SSB configurations.

  • Publication number: 20230362892
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device, which may be otherwise known as user equipment (UE) may support repetition of physical downlink control channels (PDCCH) and handling a combined PDCCH candidate associated with multiple search space sets. For example, a UE may combine a first PDCCH candidate corresponding to a first search space set and a second PDCCH candidate corresponding to a second search space set to form a combined PDCCH candidate. The UE may decode the combined PDCCH candidate based on one or more factors, for example, such as a blind decoding PDCCH candidate threshold. As a result, the UE may decode the combined PDCCH candidate in addition to decoding of individual PDCCH candidates, thereby providing increased flexibility for downlink control information (DCI) and improving the reliability of PDCCH.

  • Patent number: 11812429
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for uplink channel transmission for multiple transmit receive points (TRPs). In one aspect, a user equipment (UE) resolves overlapping physical uplink control channels (PUCCHs) in a slot or overlapping PUCCH(s) and PUSCH(s) that are mapped to a same TRP in a multi-TRP scenario and that are mapped to two or more different TRPs in the multi-TRP scenario. For example, in a multi-TRP scenario that includes two TRPs, the UE may eliminate overlap of these uplink channels for each of the two TRPs individually and may additionally eliminate overlap of these uplink channels between the two TRPs.

  • Patent number: 11812465
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. User equipments (UEs) and base stations may communicate in low power modes. A base station may transmit, to a UE, a configuration of a first regulation operating mode for the UE. The first regulation operating mode may be associated with one or more of a first transmit power constraint, a first frequency hopping setting, or a first LBT setting. The base station may transmit downlink communications to the UE according to a second regulation operating mode, which may be different from the first regulation operating mode. the UE may then perform uplink transmissions to the base station according to the first regulation operating mode. In some cases, the UE may also receive signaling advertising the second regulation operating mode of the base station.

  • Patent number: 11812277
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for silencing signal transmissions by a user equipment (UE). Silencing signals may be transmitted periodically during shared spectrum downlink communications from a serving base station to the UE to prevent an interfering node from passing a listen before talk (LBT) procedure. The silencing signal transmissions may be configured by the base station and enabled in cases where potential interfering nodes are detected. An interfering node may be notified that silencing signals are being used, and may adjust a periodicity or wait time of its LBT procedures based on the silencing signal periodicity.
