  • Publication number: 20210241288
Abstract: A method of determining a return option for a customer of a retail enterprise. The method includes receiving a request to return a previously-ordered inventory item. The request includes item attributes including an item description and an item cost of the previously-ordered inventory item. Customer attributes are received, which include a customer profile, historical sales order metrics, and historical return metrics from a customer attribute database. A risk score for the customer is determined. The risk score is based, at least in part, on the customer attributes and one or more rules assessed by a customer risk assessment tool of the retail enterprise. Based on the risk score and the item attributes, at least one return processing option for the customer is automatically determined. The at least one return processing option is presented to the customer for selection.

  • Publication number: 20210241047
Abstract: An online system performs predictions for real-time tasks and near real-time tasks that need to be performed by a deadline. A client device receives a real-time machine learning based model associated with a measure of accuracy. If the client device determines that a task can be performed using predictions having less than the specified measure of accuracy, the client device uses the real-time machine learning based model. If the client device determines that a higher level of accuracy of results is required, the client device sends a request to an online system. The online system provides a prediction along with a string representing a rationale for the prediction.

  • Publication number: 20210232637
Abstract: Determine first count of first records storing first value in first field, second count of second records storing second value in second field, third count of third records storing third value in third field. Determine count threshold using first, second and third counts, dispersion measure based on dispersion of values stored in second field by first records and other dispersion measure based on other dispersion of values stored in third field by first records. Train machine-learning model to determine dispersion measure threshold based on dispersion and other dispersion measures. If first count is greater than count threshold, and dispersion measure is greater than dispersion measure threshold, create match index based on first and second fields. Receive prospective record storing first value in first field, second value in second field. Use match index to identify record storing first value in first field, second value in second field as matching prospective record.

  • Patent number: 11074618
Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus accesses a memory to obtain information regarding sharing history (as pertains, for example, to a particular user and/or device) and uses that sharing history to display at least one recommended sharing action (from amongst a plurality of available candidate sharing actions) as regards to a particular content item (such as, for example, a particular digital photograph, a video, a presentation, and so forth). This sharing history can comprise previously-selected sharing actions as correlated to content item types including shared-content recipients, corresponding temporal data, shared-content size, corresponding location data, and so forth. By one approach the apparatus itself serves to automatically track user-based content-sharing selections over time, which information is stored as the aforementioned sharing history.

  • Publication number: 20210224614
Abstract: A model is trained to create a probability distribution of counts based on counts of distinct values stored by person profiles in a field. The model is trained to create another probability distribution of counts based on other counts of other distinct values stored by the person profiles in another field. The count of distinct values stored by a person profile in the field is identified. Another count of distinct values stored by the person profile in the other field is identified. A score is determined based on a cumulative distribution function of the count under the probability distribution of counts. Another score is determined based on the cumulative distribution function of the other count under the other probability distribution of counts. If the score and the other score combine in an overall score that satisfies a threshold, a message is output about the person profile being suspected of corruption.

  • Publication number: 20210224482
Abstract: A system receives a record which includes a string and separates the string into a number of tokens, including a token and another token. The system identifies a pattern that includes an entity, another entity, and a number of entities that equals the number of tokens, and another pattern that includes the same number of entities as the number of tokens. The system determines a combined probability that combines a probability based on the number of entries in the entity's dictionary which stores the token, and another probability based on a number of character types in the other entity that match characters in the other token. If the combined probability associated with the pattern is greater than another combined probability associated with the other pattern, the system matches the record to a system record based on recognizing the token as the entity and the other token as the other entity.

  • Publication number: 20210211291
Abstract: Conventionally, biometric template protection has been achieved to improve matching performance with high levels of security by use of deep convolution neural network models. However, such attempts have prominent security limitations mapping information of images to binary codes is stored in an unprotected form. Given this model and access to the stolen protected templates, the adversary can exploit the False Accept Rate (FAR) of the system. Secondly, once the server system is compromised all the users need to be re-enrolled again. Unlike conventional systems and approaches, present disclosure provides systems and methods that implement encrypted deep neural network(s) for biometric template protection for enrollment and verification wherein the encrypted deep neural network(s) is utilized for mapping feature vectors to a randomly generated binary code and a deep neural network model learnt is encrypted thus achieving security and privacy for data protection.

  • Publication number: 20210208179
Abstract: A distributed computing system for artificial intelligence in autonomously appreciating a circumstance context of a smart device. Raw context data is detected by sensors associated with the smart device. The raw context data is pre-processed by the smart device and then provided to a cloud based server for further processing. At the cloud based server, various sets of feature data are obtained from the pre-processed context data. The various sets of feature data are compared with corresponding classification parameters to determine a classification of a continuous event and/or a classification of transient event, if any, which occur in the context. The determined classification of the continuous event and the transient event will be used to autonomously configure the smart device or another related smart device to fit the context.

  • Patent number: 11036604
Abstract: This application discloses a computing system implementing a functional safety validation tool to simulate an integrated circuit design with a stimulus vector. The computing system can inject a fault at a first node of the simulated integrated circuit design, which prompts alarm logic to trigger indicating a detection of the injected fault. The computing system, in response to the triggering of the alarm logic, can initiate back-propagation to identify which intermediate nodes of the simulated integrated circuit design, located between the first node and the alarm logic, have fault values that prompt the alarm logic to trigger. The computing system can generate a fault coverage presentation identifying a diagnostic coverage of the alarm logic for the stimulus vector based on when the alarm logic.
