  • Publication number: 20200104542
Abstract: A simulation results evaluation device applies plural numbers of virtual input parameters (VIPs) of a simulation test of the power generation facility to model data showing virtual behaviors of the power generation facility. The device calculates each of virtual process values (VPVs) with respect to each of the VIPs and a score obtained by multiplying the VPV by a coefficient of a positive value when the VPV is included in a predetermined target range, the coefficient being set for each of the VPVs, the coefficient being assigned such that as a deviation from a predetermined target becomes greater, the value of the coefficient becomes smaller, or a coefficient of a negative value when the VPV is included within a permissible range provided adjacently to the predetermined target range. The device extracts a simulation test condition that satisfies a predetermined evaluation condition based on the calculated score.

  • Publication number: 20200089899
Abstract: Biometric templates (template) are used to store biometric data of one or more users. As biometric data of each user is unique and non-replaceable, template security is a major concern. This disclosure relates generally to template protection, and more particularly to a method and system for biometric template protection. The system generates a final perturbation value for data in the template, based on a first binary code (BC), a second binary code (BC?), feature vectors corresponding to data in the template, and an initial random perturbation. The final perturbation and the feature vectors are mapped to the first binary code. The first binary code represents the template. Every time the first binary code is compromised, the value of first binary code is updated, and the whole process is repeated to generate corresponding final perturbation and then the mapping is done.

  • Patent number: 10590824
Abstract: An aftertreatment system comprises an aftertreatment component structured to decompose constituents of an exhaust gas produced by an engine. A reductant insertion assembly is fluidly coupled to the aftertreatment component and configured to insert a reductant therein. A controller is operatively coupled to the reductant insertion assembly and configured to instruct the reductant insertion assembly to insert the reductant into the aftertreatment component for a first insertion time between first time intervals. The controller determines an operating condition of the engine, and determines if the operating condition satisfies a predetermined condition. In response to the predetermined condition being satisfied, the controller instructs the reductant insertion assembly to insert the reductant into the aftertreatment component for a second insertion time between second time intervals. The second insertion time is longer than the first insertion time.

  • Patent number: 10576429
Abstract: Polyvinyl difluoride (PVDF) membranes prepared from casting solution including the biopolymer kappa-carrageenan (kCg) as an additive demonstrate improved structure and properties. The resulting asymmetrical structure has a thin layer on the upper surface, a porous sublayer with reduced volume of macro void space and increased porosity, and a spongy layer beneath the sublayer. This results in an increased hydrophilic nature, and provides enhanced wetting, membrane porosity, and water permeability—all important properties making these membranes suitable for a wide range of uses.

  • Patent number: 10572820
Abstract: A personalized recommendation model scores each object in an interaction set of objects with which a user interacted and in a ransom set of objects with which the user lacks known interaction. A system sorts each scored object based on a decreasing order of each corresponding score, and identifies a high scoring set of the sorted objects with a number (equal to the number of objects in the interaction set of objects) of highest corresponding scores. The system aggregates a corresponding order value for each object in the high scoring set that is also in the interaction set of objects (the corresponding order value for an object is based on a corresponding order for the object in the high scoring set). The system evaluates the model for the user by dividing the aggregated order value by an aggregation of a corresponding order value for each object in the high scoring set.
