  • Publication number: 20180285675
Abstract: System and method for text localization in images are disclosed. In an embodiment, a line and graphic eliminated image is received. Further, horizontal projection is performed on rows of the image to obtain a first flag vector, the flag vector indicates whether there is text in each row. Furthermore, a number of run-lengths of consecutive 1's and 0's is computed in the first flag vector. Moreover, text lines is extracted in the image based on the computed number of run-lengths of consecutive 1's and 0's in the first flag vector. Also, vertical projection is performed on the text lines to obtain a second flag vector for the text lines. Further, a number of run-lengths of consecutive 1's and 0's is computed in the second flag vectors. Furthermore, text is localized in the image based on the computed number of run-lengths of consecutive 1's and 0's in the second flag vectors.

  • Publication number: 20180279250
Abstract: Techniques are provided that provide for or otherwise support positioning and related services for mobile devices via wireless signals. In an example, a mobile device may receive from a location server one or more messages comprising positioning assistance data indicating at least an operating frequency band of a terrestrial positioning signal (TPS). Responsive to detecting an incompatibility of an operating frequency band of the TPS with an operating frequency band of a receiver of the mobile device, the mobile device may initiate an alternative signal acquisition process.

  • Publication number: 20180268035
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for providing recommendation of a query processing engine from multiple query processing engines. The method includes receiving queries by a query receiving unit, extraction of features of the query by a feature extractor, checking for a similar query in a knowledge base by an evaluator, executing the query on multiple query processing engines by a scheduler, and collecting execution statistics for each query processing engine if the similar query is not found in the knowledge base or fetching the suitable query processing engine from the knowledge base if the similar query is found in the knowledge base and executing the query on that query processing engine. The method also includes providing the recommendation of a single query processing engine from multiple query processing engines by the evaluator based on a recommendation value calculated for every query processing engine.

  • Publication number: 20180259448
Abstract: One or more light sources emit light within first, second, and third wavelength ranges through exhaust gas. The first and second wavelength ranges are characterized by first and second different absorption wavelength ranges of a background gas. The third wavelength range is characterized by an absorption wavelength range of a gas-of-interest. At least some of the light within the first, second, and third wavelength ranges is absorbed by the exhaust gas thereby providing modified light characterized by the first, second, and third absorption wavelength ranges. One or more detectors receive the modified light. A processing subsystem determines a temperature of the exhaust gas based on the modified light characterized by the first and second absorption wavelength ranges and a concentration of the gas-of-interest based on the modified light characterized by the third absorption wavelength range and the temperature of the exhaust gas.

  • Patent number: 10073934
Abstract: Electronic design automation systems, methods, and media are presented for characterizing on-chip variation of circuit elements in a circuit design using statistical values including skew, and for performing statistical static timing analysis using these statistical values. One embodiment models delay characteristics under certain operating conditions for circuit elements with asymmetric (e.g., non-Gaussian) probability density functions using normalized skewness. This information is then accessed in other embodiments, and scaled to generate scaled timing values describing the statistical timing characteristics of a circuit element or block estimated from the skew-based values. These values may then be used for further timing analysis.
