  • Patent number: 10077727
Abstract: A fuel control module controls fuel injection of an engine based on a predetermined lean air/fuel ratio. The predetermined lean air/fuel ratio is fuel lean relative to a stoichiometric air/fuel ratio for the fuel. A cylinder control module selectively deactivates opening of intake and exhaust valves of M cylinders of the engine to increase removal of nitrogen oxide (NOx) from exhaust. M is an integer greater than 0 and less than a total number of cylinders of the engine. The fuel control module further: disables fueling of the M cylinders while opening of the intake and exhaust valves of the M cylinders is deactivated; and, while fueling of the M cylinders is disabled and opening of the intake and exhaust valves of the M cylinders is deactivated, controls fuel injection of other cylinders based on a predetermined rich air/fuel ratio that is fuel rich relative to the stoichiometric air/fuel ratio.

  • Patent number: 10050937
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for reducing impact of network attacks in access networks. A network device including an interface in a forwarding plane of the network device, and a policer configured in a packet forwarding engine of the forwarding plane may be configured to perform the techniques. The interface may receive a packet from a subscriber access device positioned at an edge of sub-network of an access network. The packet may include trusted information inserted by an intermediate network device positioned between the network device and the subscriber access device. The policer may determine, based on the trusted information, whether the packet is associated with the network attack. Based on the determination of whether the packet is associated with the network attack, the policer may forward the packet for subsequent protocol-specific processing.

  • Publication number: 20180172753
Abstract: Various embodiments of a gate oxide breakdown detection technique detect gate oxide degradation due to stress on a per part basis without destroying functional circuits for an intended application. Stress on the gate oxide may be applied while nominal drain currents flow through a device, thereby stressing the device under conditions similar to actual operating conditions. The technique is relatively fast and does not require analog amplifiers or tuning of substantial amounts of other additional circuitry as compared to conventional gate oxide breakdown detection techniques.

  • Patent number: 9800251
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for measuring a specified parameter in a phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer (PLL). In one embodiment, the method comprises introducing multiple phase errors in the PLL, measuring a specified aspect of the introduced phase errors, and determining a value for the specified parameter using the measured aspects of the introduced phase errors. In one embodiment, the phase errors are introduced repetitively in the PLL, and these phase errors produce a modified phase difference between the reference signal and the feedback signal in the PPL. In one embodiment, crossover times, when this modified phase difference crosses over a preset value, are determined, and these crossover times are used to determine the value for the specified parameter. In an embodiment, the parameter is calculated as a mathematical function of the crossover times. The parameter may be, for example, the bandwidth of the PLL.
