  • Patent number: 11301312
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for improved error logging during system boot and shutdown. A hardware initialization firmware on a computing device can include a logging module. When errors occur during early system booting or late system shutdown, the firmware can create error logs. The logging module can receive the error logs and prioritize them according to a set of rules. The logging module can select error logs of the highest priority up to a predetermined maximum amount. The logging module can modify the error logs using a shorthand form and write them to nonvolatile random-access memory. The firmware can initialize runtime services and launch an operating system. A system logger on the operating system can retrieve the error logs, save them to a file, and erase them from the memory.

  • Patent number: 11304246
Abstract: A server allows pairing of a computing device with a companion computing device so that they may automatically connect to one another in the future. Pairing is accomplished by responding to a user request to pair a particular companion device by identifying computing devices associated with a particular user account, and directing those devices to monitor whether they are in range of a proximity signal (such as a BLUETOOTH® signal). A user interface on the companion device displays a list of devices specific to the user that are in proximity to the companion computing device, so that the user can choose a device to pair with the companion computing device.

  • Publication number: 20220109072
Abstract: Integrated circuit transistor structures are disclosed that reduce band-to-band tunneling between the channel region and the source/drain region of the transistor, without adversely increasing the extrinsic resistance of the device. In an example embodiment, the structure includes one or more spacer configured to separate the source and/or drain from the channel region. The spacer(s) regions comprise a semiconductor material that provides a relatively high conduction band offset (CBO) and a relatively low valence band offset (VBO) for PMOS devices, and a relatively high VBO and a relatively low CBO for NMOS devices. In some cases, the spacer includes silicon, germanium, and carbon (e.g., for devices having germanium channel). The proportions may be at least 10% silicon by atomic percentage, at least 85% germanium by atomic percentage, and at least 1% carbon by atomic percentage. Other embodiments are implemented with III-V materials.

  • Patent number: 11295294
Abstract: A computer system receives an indication from a user that the user wishes to perform a mobile wallet transaction to transfer funds to a recipient using a mobile device. The transaction is authenticated by the computer system. The authentication includes receiving login credentials manually entered by the user and determining that the login credentials match stored login credentials for the user. The authentication further includes determining that the mobile device has a device token stored thereon that matches a device token stored in a database of the computer system. The device token uniquely identifies the mobile device in the computer system. The authentication further includes determining that the mobile device has a customer token stored thereon that matches the customer token stored in the database. The customer token uniquely identifying the customer in the computer system. The computer system transmits the funds to the recipient responsive to the authenticating step.
