  • Publication number: 20150156709
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and devices are described for wireless communications in which neighborhood area network (NaN) information may be requested and provided in a relatively fast and efficient manner between devices of a NaN. A wireless communication device, such as a station in a wireless communications network, may transmit an active probe request to seek information related to a NaN. The active probe request may be a NaN specific probe request, or may be transmitted from a station as part of an active scan for wireless network infrastructure other than NaN devices (e.g., as part of a scan for an AP in a BSS). An AP or master device of the NaN may receive the probe request and generate a NaN discovery response, which may include information that the requesting device may use for connecting to a device in the NaN.

  • Publication number: 20150149620
Abstract: A method for calculating the effect of an action on a network includes creating a mapping of a plurality of devices of a networked computing environment. In one embodiment, the mapping describes a relationship between a primary device and at least one device of the plurality of devices. In another embodiment, the method includes determining a plurality of potential actions to be performed on the primary device. In a further embodiment, the method includes calculating an effect of a potential action of the plurality of potential actions on the plurality of devices in response to simulating performing the potential action on the primary device. In yet another embodiment, the method includes performing an optimization action in response to calculating the effect of the potential action. • Publication number: 20150149725
Abstract: A multi-threaded binary translation system performs atomic operations by a thread, such operations include processing a load linked instruction and a store conditional instruction. The store conditional instruction updates data stored in a shared memory address only when at least three conditions are satisfied. The conditions are: a copy of a load linked shared memory address of the load linked instruction is the same as the store conditional shared memory address, a reservation flag indicates that the thread has a valid reservation, and the copy of data stored by the load linked instruction is the same as data stored in the store conditional shared memory address.

  • Publication number: 20150149625
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method, non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, and computer system that implement a latency monitoring and reporting service configured to collect and report latency of service transactions. In one embodiment, a chronicler object is generated and transmitted to a charging engine, where the chronicler object is configured to collect a set of time points as the chronicler object travels through one or more components of the charging engine. Upon return of the chronicler object, the set of time points is extracted from the chronicler object and added to one of a plurality of accumulator objects. Each accumulator object includes a plurality of sets of time points from a plurality of chronicler objects that are received during a reporting window. The plurality of sets of times points of each accumulator object is used to calculate the latency of service transactions.

  • Patent number: 9043530
Abstract: Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for storing data within a hybrid storage aggregate comprising a lower-latency storage tier and a higher-latency storage tier. In particular, frequently accessed data, randomly accessed data, and/or short lived data may be stored (e.g., read caching and/or write caching) within the lower-latency storage tier. Infrequently accessed data and/or sequentially accessed data may be stored within the higher-latency storage tier. Because the hybrid storage aggregate may comprise a single logical container derived from the higher-latency storage tier and the lower-latency storage tier, additional storage and/or file system functionality may be implemented across the storage tiers. For example, deduplication functionality, caching functionality, backup/restore functionality, and/or other functionality may be provided through a single file system (or other type of arrangement) and/or a cache map implemented within the hybrid storage aggregate.

  • Publication number: 20150140527
Abstract: A computer system is described for providing intervention suggestion information to a user, for the purpose of changing a psychological state of the user. The information suggestion information identifies at least one recommended intervention, selected from a pool of candidate interventions. Each candidate intervention, in turn, involves a type of computer-related activity with which the user is likely already familiar. The computer system formulates the intervention suggestion information in the form of one or more messages, delivered to one or more user devices, such as a mobile user device, or a mobile user device in conjunction with an ambient presentation device. According to one optional aspect, the computer system chooses the recommended interventions based on context information. According to another aspect, the computer system selects interventions by adopting a particular balance between an exploitation mode and an exploration mode.

  • Publication number: 20150142800
Abstract: An improved technique of organizing content of online meetings involves generating an electronic summary based on a textual metadata derived from content presented in an online meeting. An online meeting server collects content such as audio, video, and slide files presented in a particular online meeting. From metadata associated with such content, the online meeting server generates an electronic summary of the particular online meeting which includes a textual description of the content. The online meeting server then stores the electronic summary and the content presented in the particular online meeting in a repository that is configured to store content from other online meetings.

  • Publication number: 20150141037
Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein may include tracking one or more geo-fences using a GNSS hardware processor within a computing device. The tracking may use at least one GNSS signal. State changes of the one or more geo-fences during the tracking may be saved in a shared state database. The shared state database may be shared between the GNSS hardware processor and an application processor within the computing device. Upon detecting a deterioration of the at least one GNSS signal, tracking the one or more geo-fences may be switched from using the GNSS hardware processor to using the application processor. After the switching, an initial state of each of the one or more geo-fences may be set by using states currently stored in the shared state database prior to the switching.
