  • Patent number: 8737144
Abstract: An embodiment of a sense amplifier includes a sense circuit and a monitor circuit. The sense circuit is configured to convert a first signal that corresponds to data stored in a memory cell into a second signal that corresponds to the data, and the monitor circuit is configured to indicate a reliability of the second signal. The monitor circuit allows, for example, adjusting a parameter of a memory in which the memory cell is disposed to increase the read accuracy, and may also allow recognizing and correcting an error due to an invalid second signal.

  • Patent number: 8733360
Abstract: The invention provides intrafallopian devices and non-surgical methods for their placement to prevent conception. The efficacy of the device is enhanced by forming the structure at least in part from copper or copper alloy. The device is anchored within the fallopian tube by a lumen-traversing region of the resilient structure which has helical outer surface, together with a portion of the resilient structure which is biased to form a bent secondary shape, the secondary shape having a larger cross-section than the fallopian tube. The resilient structure is restrained in a straight configuration and transcervically inserted within the fallopian tube, where it is released. Optionally, permanent sterilization s effected by passing a current through there resilient structure to the tubal walls.

  • Publication number: 20140138007
Abstract: A cementitious board system which is reinforced on its opposed surfaces by an improved glass fiber mesh scrim with thicker yarn and larger mesh openings to provide a cementitious board with improved handling properties while retaining tensile strength and long term durability. The fabric is constructed as a mesh of high modulus strands of bundled glass fibers encapsulated by alkali and water resistant material, e.g. a thermoplastic material. The composite fabric also has suitable physical characteristics for embedment within the cement matrix of the panels or boards closely adjacent the opposed faces thereof. The fabric provides a board system with long-lasting, high strength tensile reinforcement and improved handling properties regardless of their spatial orientation during handling. Included as part of the invention are methods for making the reinforced board.

  • Patent number: 8732840
Abstract: An incident triage engine performs incident triage in a system by prioritizing responses to incidents within the system. One prioritization method may include receiving attributes of incidents and assets in the system, generating cumulative loss forecasts for the incidents, and prioritizing the responses to the incidents based on the cumulative loss forecasts for the incidents. Another prioritization method may include determining different arrangements of incidents within a response queue, calculating cumulative queue loss forecasts for the different arrangements of incidents within the response queue, and arranging the incidents in the response queue based on the arrangement of incidents that minimizes the total loss to the system over the resolution of all of the incidents present in the response queue.

  • Publication number: 20140132275
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for determining an isoelectric point of a molecule. A first group of capacitance versus voltage curves of a capacitor is measured. The capacitor includes a substrate, dielectric layer, and conductive solution. The first group of curves is measured for pH values of the solution without the molecule bound to a functionalized material on the dielectric layer of the capacitor. A second group of capacitance versus voltage curves of the capacitor is measured when the molecule is present in the solution, where the molecule is bound to the functionalized material of the dielectric layer of the capacitor. A shift is determined in the second group of curves from the first group of curves at each pH value. The isoelectric point of the molecule is determined by extrapolating a pH value corresponding to a shift voltage being zero, when the shift is compared to the pH values.
