  • Publication number: 20120000386
Abstract: A transport system for cut sheet media has a first and second cylinder to form a nip, a support subsystem to transport edges of cut sheets having at least one image into and out of the nip, and an array of contact points on each cylinder to make contact with the cut sheets without marking the image. A wheel for a print medium transport system has an outer rim having a series of contact points, an inner hub supporting a means to accommodate a drive shaft, and an internal spring connecting the outer rim to the inner hub. A method of transporting cut sheets in a printing system forms a nip between at least one pair of cylinders, each cylinder having an array of contact points, guides a first edge of a cut sheet into the nip, and uses the arrays of contact points to transport the cut sheets through one of either a fusing or drying process.

  • Patent number: 8090695
Abstract: As described herein, a high-availability server system includes at least a source server system and a target server system that dynamically restore message object search indexes. Both the source server system and the target server system store copies of a mailbox database and a search index for the mailbox database. As changes are requested to the mailbox database, events are added to event lists maintained at the source node and the target node. When the data storage system at the target server system enters an error state, the source server system sends to the target server system a set of data that the target server system can use to generate a copy of search index. The target server system may then resume applying events in the event list to the search index. In this way, it may not be necessary to completely re-index the mailbox database at the target node.

  • Patent number: 8089966
Abstract: System and method for filtering a data packet using a combined filter are disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes receiving a data packet and N filters. The method includes receiving a data packet and N (wherein N is an integer and N>1) filters, each filter comprising a bit mask and corresponding bit values. The method further includes, for each of the N filters, identifying a key element from a portion of the filter corresponding to a combined filter, the key element being a segment of the filter portion having the richest bit pattern. The method further includes generating the combined filter by combining the key element of the N filters. The method further includes filtering the data packet with the combined filter to determine whether there is a match between the data packet and each key element.

  • Publication number: 20110320467
Abstract: A method is presented for generating a list of frequently used words for an email application on a server computer. When a request is received for a word frequency list for emails stored in a user's mailbox, a word frequency list is returned if one exists. If the word frequency list does not exist, an asynchronous process is started on the server computer to generate a word frequency list. If the word frequency list exists but it is older than an aging limit, an asynchronous process is started on the server computer to regenerate the word frequency list. The word frequency list is stored in the user's mailbox along with a timestamp indicating the date and time that the list was created or updated.

  • Publication number: 20110320393
Abstract: Memory architecture provides capabilities for high performance content search. The architecture creates an innovative memory that can be programmed with content search rules which are used by the memory to evaluate presented content for matching with the programmed rules. When the content being searched matches any of the rules programmed in the Programmable Intelligent Search Memory (PRISM) action(s) associated with the matched rule(s) are taken. Content search rules comprise of regular expressions which are converted to finite state automata (FSA) and then programmed in PRISM for evaluating content with the search rules. PRISM architecture comprises of a plurality of programmable PRISM Memory clusters (PMC) which comprise of a plurality of programmable PRISM Search Engines (PSE). Groups of PMCs can be programmed with the same rules and used in parallel to apply these rules to multiple data streams simultaneously to achieve increased performance.

  • Publication number: 20110321047
Abstract: A device stores a plurality of applications and a list of associations for those applications. The applications are preferably stored within a secondary memory of the device, and once launched each application is loaded into RAM. Each application is preferably associated to one or more of the other applications. Preferably, no applications are launched when the device is powered on. A user selects an application, which is then launched by the device, thereby loading the application from the secondary memory to RAM. Whenever an application is determined to be associated with a currently active state application, and that associated application has yet to be loaded from secondary memory to RAM, the associated application is pre-launched such that the associated application is loaded into RAM, but is set to an inactive state.

  • Publication number: 20110318471
Abstract: A method for thawing and infusing partially frozen fruits or vegetables. Individually quick frozen fruits or vegetables are introduced into a mixing kettle. An infusion solution is circulated from a solution tank, through a bed of fruits or vegetables, and back to a solution tank. The infusion solution is maintained at a temperature of about 45° to about 50° F. and at a Brix of about 40° to about 50°. The infusion solution is pumped and circulated at a high rate which reduces thaw time but does not result in product degradation. After thawing, the pumping and re-circulating rate is decreased to allow for increased infusion efficiency. Pressure pulses are applied to the product in the mixing tank which decreases the infusion time. Thus, thawed and infused fruit and vegetables are produced quickly and with minimal product degradation.

  • Patent number: 8079364
Abstract: Contraceptive methods, systems, and devices generally improve the ease, speed, and reliability with which a contraceptive device can be deployed transcervically into an ostium of a fallopian tube. The contraceptive device may remain in a small profile configuration while a sheath is withdrawn proximally, and is thereafter expanded to a large profile configuration engaging the surrounding tissues, by manipulating one or more actuators of a proximal handle with a single hand. This leaves the other hand free to manipulate a hysteroscope, minimizing the number of health care professional required to deploy the contraceptive device.

  • Publication number: 20110307422
Abstract: A multiple model data exploration system and method for running multiple machine-learning models simultaneously to understand and explore data. Embodiments of the system and method allow a user to gain a greater understanding of the data and to gain new insights into their data. Embodiments of the system and method also allow a user to interactively explore the problem and to navigate different views of data. Many different classifier training and evaluation experiments are run simultaneously and results are obtained. The results are aggregated and visualized across each of the experiments to determine and understand how each example is classified for each different classifier. These results then are summarized in a variety of ways to allow users to obtain a greater understanding of the data both in terms of the individual examples themselves and features associated with the data.
