Abstract: The present teaching relates to method, system, medium, and implementations for communication. A communication chain with multiple chain units is used to represent a communication thread involving multiple users. Each chain unit includes first information related to a piece of communication in the communication thread and second information for authenticating a request to access the piece of communication. When a request is received with third information from one of the users to access a specific piece of communication in the communication thread in a corresponding chain unit, the user is authenticated based on the third information and the second information in the chain unit for the specific piece of communication. The requested access is facilitated when the user is authenticated.

  • Publication number: 20240004689
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a novel method for collecting and reporting attributes of data flows associated with machines executing on a plurality of host computers to an analysis appliance and providing visual representations of the data to a user. Some embodiments provide a visual representation of the collected data that allows a user to select a set of machines and flows and initiate recommendation generation based on the selected machines and flows. The recommendation generation, in some embodiments, includes identifying flows for which rules have not been defined and filtering the identified rules to remove flows for which rules should not be defined. Some embodiments use the identified rues to identify services and groups associated with the rules and generate recommendations for rules, groups and services based on the identified flows, groups and services. • Publication number: 20240004725
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for managing power allocation in a computing system. A system management unit detects a condition indicating a change in power is indicated. Such a change may be detecting an indication that a power change is either required, possible, or requested. In response to detecting a reduction in power is indicated, the system management unit identifies currently executing tasks of the computing system and accesses sensitivity data to determine which of a number of computing units (or power domains) to select for power reduction. Based at least in part on the data, a unit is identified that is determined to have a relatively low sensitivity to power state changes under the current operating conditions. A relatively low sensitivity indicates that a change in power to the corresponding unit will not have as significant an impact on overall performance of the computing system than if another unit was selected. Power allocated for the selected unit is then decreased.

  • Publication number: 20240003969
Abstract: Methods and systems for on-die measuring jitter of a clock under test are presented. In an aspect, an apparatus comprises a delay line having a plurality of delay elements, the outputs of which are sampled at the expected transition time of the clock under test. The sampled outputs are provided to an edge detector that indicates the presence of the clock transition at a specific time, and a latching circuit stores a record of all the edge locations seen during a sampling window. In some aspects, a counting circuit counts and stores how many times the transition occurs at each specific time during the sampling window. The counts stored by the counting circuit provide histogram data that can be analyzed to determine the jitter characteristics of the clock under test.

  • Publication number: 20240004448
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for dynamically estimating power losses in a computing system. A system management circuit tracks a state of a computing system and dynamically estimates power losses in the computing system based in part on the state. Based on the estimated power losses, power consumption of the computing system is estimated. In response to detecting reduced power losses in at least a portion of the computing system, the system management circuit is configured to increase a power-performance state of one or more circuits of the computing system while remaining within a power allocation limit of the computing system.

  • Patent number: 11861664
Abstract: Keyword bids determined from sparse data are described. Initially, a portfolio optimization platform identifies which keywords included in a portfolio of keywords are low-impression keywords. This platform trains a machine learning model to generate bids for the low-impression keywords with historical data from a search engine. In particular, the platform trains this machine learning model according to an algorithm suited for training with sparse amounts of data, e.g., a temporal difference learning algorithm. In contrast, the platform uses different models, trained according to different algorithms than the low-impression keyword model, to generate bids for keywords determined not to be low-impression keywords. Once the low-impression keyword model is trained offline, the platform deploys the model for use online to generate actual bids for the low-impression keywords and submits them to the search engine.
