  • Patent number: 10860409
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device writes messages and corresponding trace-on-failure flags to log files when failure conditions are detected. The device propagates the trace-on-failure flags to headers of the log files. The device forms a file index of the log files that have trace-on-failure flags set in their headers. The device performs, using the file index, a lookup of messages in the log files associated with a particular error context. The device sends data from the lookup to an electronic display.

  • Publication number: 20200382981
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing system can perform crowd sourced access point mapping using privacy preserving techniques. For example, a server device can receive access point data reports from multiple user devices that includes various attributes and/or measurements with respect to access points with which the user devices have established connections. The access point data reports can be delivered without identifying the user devices, or users thereof, and their exact locations. Based on the access point data reports, the server device can map locations of access points and relationships between access points to generate network topologies, network locations, network quality scores, and various other characteristics of networks and/or access points. The generated access point data can be served to user devices so that the user devices can improve the efficiency of the interactions between user devices and the detected access points and/or networks.

  • Patent number: 10841389
Abstract: Techniques related to authentication and authorization are disclosed. In some embodiments, an access management system is provided for increasing the reliability of notification-based authentication and/or authorization. Push notifications, for example, may be used as part of multifactor authentication processing or authorization processing. In certain embodiments, in response to an event triggering an authentication or authorization flow for a user, multiple different ways are provided for delivering notifications related to the authentication or authorization flow to the user's device (e.g., a client device registered for push notification-based authentication or authorization). By providing multiple ways for communicating notifications related to the authentication or authorization to the user's device, the chance that an authentication-related or authorization-related notification is missed or not delivered to the user's device is dramatically reduced.

  • Patent number: 10812473
Abstract: Techniques are described for enrolling an authentication device for generating time-based one-time passwords (TOTPs) for use with multi-factor authentication (MFA). A user is prompted to initiate an enrollment procedure after successful authentication based on a first authentication factor in connection with a request for a resource protected by an access management (AM) system. The authentication device contacts the AM system to establish that the authentication device is a trusted device (e.g., through validation of an authentication token contained in a Quick Response (QR) code generated by the AM system). After the authentication device has been established as a trusted device, the AM system sends a shared secret to the authentication device, which uses the shared secret to complete enrollment (e.g., by generating a TOTP for verification by the AM system). A session is then created for the user to enable access to the protected resource.

  • Patent number: 10812576
Abstract: A Top of Rack (TOR) switch operating with a Software for Open Networking in the Cloud (SONiC) platform is implemented using commodity switch hardware and is configured to maintain or retrieve flow state information for incoming data flows in a load balancer. In one embodiment, an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) informs a user mode container flow state information for each incoming data flow. The user mode container informs the ASIC of any affected flows that may result pursuant to a modified distributed system (e.g., added, updated, or removed servers). In other embodiments, the ASIC may utilize remote direct memory access (RDMA) to retrieve flow state information maintained by a remote device or may utilize the RDMA to retrieve network address translation (NAT) information for incoming traffic. In each of the implementations, the integrity of the load balancing system is maintained when the distributed system of servers changes.
