  • Patent number: 10567499
Abstract: Data replication groups may be used to store data in a distributed computing environment. The data replication groups may include a set of nodes executing a consensus protocol to maintain data durably. During the execution of the set of nodes various nodes may become stale or otherwise obtain a state that is inconsistent with at least one other node of the data replication group. A catch up algorithm may be employed in which a set of teachers is initialized, the various node which may be stale may select a teacher from the set of teachers and perform learning operations. This process may be repeated until the state of the various nodes is current with at least one other node of the data replication group.

  • Publication number: 20200042372
Abstract: In one embodiment, a device writes messages and corresponding trace-on-failure flags to log files when failure conditions are detected. The device propagates the trace-on-failure flags to headers of the log files. The device forms a file index of the log files that have trace-on-failure flags set in their headers. The device performs, using the file index, a lookup of messages in the log files associated with a particular error context. The device sends data from the lookup to an electronic display.

  • Publication number: 20200036578
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for managing gateway switchovers. An indication is received that a primary gateway will be switched to a backup gateway. In response to the indication, a response is made to a periodic health probe that a gateway switchover has been initiated. Incoming data traffic is forwarded from the primary gateway to the backup gateway. Subsequent to an elapsed time delay, a response is made to the periodic health probe that the primary gateway will no longer accept incoming data traffic. The time delay may be based at least in part on one or more of a time interval of the periodic poll and a time to effect the gateway switchover. The forwarding of the incoming data traffic from the primary gateway to the backup gateway is terminated.

  • Patent number: 10544720
Abstract: An internal combustion engine system includes an engine and an aftertreatment system that is connected to the engine to receive an exhaust flow from the engine. The aftertreatment system includes a contaminant storage catalyst for storing contaminants produced by the engine during cold start and low temperature operating conditions, and a NOx reduction catalyst downstream of the storage catalyst for receiving the contaminants released from the storage catalyst when temperature conditions in the exhaust flow and/or NOx reduction catalyst are above an effective temperature threshold for NOx reduction. A contaminant amount stored on the storage catalyst can be estimated in response to one or more operating parameters to manage a storage capacity of the storage catalyst. A bypass can used to bypass the storage catalyst to preserve storage capacity for a subsequent cold start condition.

  • Publication number: 20190386981
Abstract: Techniques are described for enrolling an authentication device for generating time-based one-time passwords (TOTPs) for use with multi-factor authentication (MFA). A user is prompted to initiate an enrollment procedure after successful authentication based on a first authentication factor in connection with a request for a resource protected by an access management (AM) system. The authentication device contacts the AM system to establish that the authentication device is a trusted device (e.g., through validation of an authentication token contained in a Quick Response (QR) code generated by the AM system). After the authentication device has been established as a trusted device, the AM system sends a shared secret to the authentication device, which uses the shared secret to complete enrollment (e.g., by generating a TOTP for verification by the AM system). A session is then created for the user to enable access to the protected resource.

  • Patent number: 10497155
Abstract: A method for creating a graphical representation of data is performed at an electronic device having one or more processors and memory. The device receives a finite set of data points and calculates a respective conical distribution for each respective data point centered on the respective data point and based on a respective data value. Each conical distribution comprises a set of locations and a unique distribution value corresponding to each location. The device determines that a first data value of a first data point is less than a distribution value for a second data point. The distribution value has a location that corresponds to the first data point. Based on that determination, the device calculates an inverse conical distribution in a region around the first data point. The device combines the conical distributions and inverse conical distributions to display a data visualization that includes each of the data points.

  • Patent number: 10489230
Abstract: Data replication groups may be used to store data in a distributed computing environment. The data replication groups may include a set of nodes executing a consensus protocol to maintain data durably. In order to monitor and debug the operation of the data replication group a chaining mechanism may be utilized during log creation by the set of nodes of the data replication group. The chaining mechanism may cause entries in the log to indicate an operation being performed and an operation performed immediately prior to the operation being performed. In various embodiments, an outside observer receives the logs and checks the logs for errors indicated by the chaining mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20190340147
Abstract: A data processing network and method of operation thereof are provided for efficient transfer of ordered data from a Request Node to a target node. The Request Node send write requests to a Home Node and the Home Node responds to a first write request when resources have been allocated the Home Node. The Request Node then sends the data to the written. The Home Node also responds with a completion message when a coherency action has been performed at the Home Node. The Request Node acknowledges receipt of the completion message with a completion acknowledgement message that is not sent until completion messages have been received for all write requests older than the first write request for the ordered data, thereby maintaining data order. Following receipt of the completion acknowledgement for the first write request, the Home Node sends the data to be written to the target node.
