  • Publication number: 20100204914
Abstract: A method for communication includes running a navigation application on a mobile navigation device, so as to present to a user navigation instructions from a navigation server on the display of the mobile navigation device. A widget chosen by the user is activated to run on the mobile navigation device in conjunction with the navigation application. Responsively to activating the widget, an interactive user interface element is overlaid on the navigation instructions on the display, indicating an availability of a location-based service at a location specified by the navigation instructions. Upon receiving an input from the user via the interactive user interface element invoking the service, the service is provided to the user at the specified location via the mobile navigation device.

  • Patent number: 7773138
Abstract: A color image sensor includes an array of pixels arranged in a plurality of pixel groups, each pixel group including a floating diffusion that is shared by four pixels disposed in a 2×2 arrangement. Each of said four pixels includes a photodetector and a color filter superposed over the photodetector, wherein a first pair of said four pixels include green color, and a second pair of said four pixels includes either red or blue color filters. A control circuit controls the pixel groups such that discrete image information is generated from each pixel in normal light situations, and such that summed image information is generated from each pixel group in low light situations by simultaneously connecting the green pixels to the floating diffusion during a first time period, and simultaneously connecting the red/blue pixels to said floating diffusion during a second time period.

  • Publication number: 20100198984
Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for transparent transmission control protocol (TCP) offload with best effort direct placement of incoming traffic are disclosed. Aspects of a method may include collecting TCP segments in a network interface card (NIC) processor without transferring state information to a host processor every time a TCP segment is received. When an event occurs that terminates the collection of TCP segments, the NIC processor may generate a new aggregated TCP segment based on the collected TCP segments. If a placement sequence number corresponding to the generated new TCP segment for the particular network flow is received before the TCP segment is received, the generated new TCP segment may be transferred directly from the memory to the user buffer instead of transferring the data to a kernel buffer, which would require further copy by the host stack from kernel buffer to user buffer.

  • Patent number: 7770221
Abstract: A method and apparatus for integrating intercepted information with information obtained from an at least one data retention source, the method comprising receiving intercepted information from an interception source, receiving information from a data retention source, and analyzing the information received from the data retention source, in association with the intercepted information. The intercepted information can comprise meta data related to the intercepted communications, and/or the contents of the communication themselves. This enables a user such as a law enforcement agency to reveal possibly indirect connections between target entities s wherein the connections involve non-target entities. The method and apparatus combine interception and content analysis methodologies with traffic analysis techniques.

  • Patent number: 7754564
Abstract: A capacitor for a single-poly floating gate device is fabricated on a semiconductor substrate along with low and high voltage transistors. Each transistor has a gate width greater than or equal to a minimum gate width of the associated process. A dielectric layer is formed over the substrate, and a patterned polysilicon structure is formed over the dielectric layer. The patterned polysilicon structure includes one or more narrow polysilicon lines, each having a width less than the minimum gate width. The LDD implants for low and high voltage transistors of the same conductivity type are allowed to enter the substrate, using the patterned polysilicon structure as a mask. A thermal drive-in cycle results in a continuous diffusion region that merges under the narrow polysilicon lines. Contacts formed adjacent to the narrow polysilicon lines and a metal-1 trace connected to the contacts may increase the resulting capacitance.

  • Publication number: 20100174973
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for processing data packets having a payload and a checksum, wherein the payload has a first portion of interest. If a received data packet fails a CRC check, then it is determined whether the first portion has a valid relationship with one or more previous first portions of one or more corresponding previous payloads of one or more corresponding previous data packets. If the relationship is valid, then the first portion is output. The method enables recovery of first portions of interest from corrupted data packets having transmission errors in other parts of the data packets, thereby potentially decreasing retransmissions and increasing throughput.

  • Publication number: 20100174824
Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for transparent transmission control protocol (TCP) offload are disclosed. Aspects of a method may include collecting TCP segments in a network interface card (NIC) processor without transferring state information to a host system. The collected TCP segments may be buffered in a coalescer. The coalescer may verify that the network flow associated with the collected TCP segments has an entry in a flow lookup table (FLT). When the FLT is full, the coalescer may close a current entry and assign the network flow to the available entry. The coalescer may also update information in the FLT. When an event occurs that terminates the collection of TCP segments, the coalescer may generate a single aggregated TCP segment based on the collected TCP segments. The aggregated TCP segment and state information may be communicated to the host system for processing.

  • Patent number: 7749874
Abstract: A CMOS image sensor includes a pinned photodiode and a transfer gate that are formed using a thick mask that is self-aligned to at least one edge of the polysilicon gate structure to facilitate both the formation of a deep implant and to provide proper alignment between the photodiode implant and the gate. In one embodiment a drain side implant is formed concurrently with the deep n-type implant of the photodiode. After the deep implant, the mask is removed and a shallow p+ implant is formed to complete the photodiode. In another embodiment, the polysilicon is etched to define only a drain side edge, a shallow drain side implant is performed, and then a thick mask is provided and used to complete the gate structure, and is retained during the subsequent high energy implant. Alternatively, the high energy implant is performed prior to the shallow drain side implant.

  • Patent number: 7747683
Abstract: Method for allowing a user of a mobile terminal device having predetermined computational resources to remotely develop and operate upgraded content delivery applications. A client-side application and a corresponding remote application are installed on the terminal device and on a server connected to the terminal device. The remote application dynamically splits the tasks to be performed by the content delivery application between the client-side application and remote application, according to its computational resources and processes, in real-time, the content and its associated logic and input data to be delivered to the terminal device. The processed content is then transmitted to the terminal device over the data network and the content is rendered by the client-side application. The client-side application responds to inputs from the user and/or to messages from the server or further connected devices.
