  • Patent number: 9890800
Abstract: A mower includes an engine which is a power source for a drive wheel and a mowing mechanism. A drive system for the mower includes: a first control unit that controls operation and stop of the engine; a first power transmitting mechanism that performs transmission of power between the engine and the drive wheel; a second power transmitting mechanism that performs transmission of power between the engine and the mowing mechanism; and a second control unit that controls the second power transmitting mechanism. The first control unit also controls the first power transmitting mechanism. A signal transmitter is provided which transmits a control signal between the first control unit and the second control unit.

  • Patent number: 7080621
Abstract: An air cleaner unit of the present invention includes a removable cleaner case having defined therein an outflow port, located below the filter element, for discharging an air, introduced into the cleaner case, towards the combustion engine and including a case body opening downwardly and a bottom plate closing the opening of the case body, and a filter element replaceably accommodated within the cleaner case for substantially purifying the air introduced into the cleaner case through an air intake port. A pedestal is carried by the combustion engine and has an outer peripheral surface, which is substantially in flush with an outer peripheral surface of the filter element within the cleaner case. This filter element within the cleaner case is removably mounted on the pedestal. The bottom plate has a mounting hole defined therein and encircling the outer peripheral surface of the pedestal.

  • Patent number: 7040260
Abstract: A liquid-cooled, vertical shaft type combustion engine is provided with a duct utilizing a stream of cooling air induced by a cooling fan to cool various parts of the combustion engine. The combustion engine includes an engine body, a crankshaft accommodated in the engine body so as to extend in a vertical direction, at least one engine cylinder head disposed at a front portion of the engine body, a radiator mounted above the engine body for circulating an engine coolant, a duct positioned below the radiator, and a cooling fan operatively accommodated within the duct. The duct has at least a front discharge opening and side discharge ports defined in a peripheral wall for discharging a stream of cooling air induced by the cooling fan, in a direction forwardly of the engine body and in a direction slantwise forwardly of the engine body.

  • Patent number: 5970933
Abstract: A valve structure is disclosed which is mechanically simple and is suited for use in an overhead-valve engine having a hemi-spherical combustion chamber. In the valve structure, inlet valve 3 and exhaust valve 2 are positioned in such a manner that they incline substantially like a "V" in front view to form an acute angle therebetween. Positioned on a first inclined plane U1 are the longitudinal center lines 2a, 4a and 1a of the inlet valve 2, the associated push rod 4 and the associated rocker arm 1, which connects these, respectively. Positioned on a second inclined plane U2 are the longitudinal center lines 3a, 4a and 1a of the exhaust valve 3, the associated push rod 4 and the associated rocker arm 1, which connects these, respectively.
