    Abstract: There is provided a new medium structure to record a bar code for copyright protection or the like in an optical information recording medium capable of recording and reproducing information by a laser with respect to a dye. When a laser beam 30 is irradiated and an optical disc 10 is rotation in the direction of an arrow F, the dye of a recording layer is decomposed, a mark piece MA of a bar code 20 is formed, and a substrate is deformed by heat generated by the dye decomposition. Next, the position of the laser beam 30 is shifted to a position where a part overlaps with the mark piece MA, and when the optical disc is similarly rotated in the direction of the arrow F, a mark piece MB is formed to overlap with the mark piece MA. The above processing is repeated, so that the length of a bar is sequentially lengthened, and the bar code with a length along the standard is formed.

    Abstract: An optical-information reproducing system is provided, in which the tracking capability of an optical pickup can be increased, and in which the number of occurrences in which the optical pickup fails to track a groove can be reduced, by increasing a gain margin and by ensuring the gain margin. In the optical-information reproducing system, an optical-information recording medium is rotated at a fixed linear velocity of about 3.49 m/s, and the optical pickup is caused to track the groove to irradiate the groove with laser light, whereby information recorded on the optical-information recording medium can be reproduced. A higher-order resonance frequency of the optical pickup that is generated when the optical pickup is caused to track the groove can be made lower than a wobble frequency that is reproduced using the groove without performing rotation control on the optical-information recording medium.

    Abstract: An inclination, at a pit forming position, of the information recording surface of an optical disc with respect to a plane that is perpendicular to laser light emitted from an optical pickup is detected by a tilt sensor. Pits are formed while the laser light intensity is increased as the detected inclination increases. The illumination light quantity per unit area decreases as the inclination of the information recording surface increases. Setting the laser light intensity at a larger value as the inclination of the information recording surface increases makes it possible to compensate for reduction of the illumination light quantity per unit area that occurs in association with inclination of the information recording surface without the need for correcting the laser light emitting direction. Therefore, even if the information recording surface of an optical information recording medium is inclined, information recording can be performed with a constant laser light emitting direction.
