  • Patent number: 7379090
Abstract: An image capture apparatus includes an image capture unit, an internal memory, a digital communication unit, a display unit and a control unit. The image capture unit captures an image. The internal memory stores the captured image. The digital communication unit sends the captured image stored in the internal memory to an external device. The control unit (i) selects a low-speed transfer mode if the display unit displays an image, and (ii) selects a high-speed transfer mode if the display unit does not display an image. Both the low-speed transfer mode and the high-speed transfer mode are used for transfer of data between the internal memory and the digital communication unit for transfer of the captured image to the external device.

  • Patent number: 6967695
Abstract: The field of view of a video camera is set to include electric appliances such as a refrigerator, TV set, air conditioner and lamp installed within a room. When the user operates a remote controller to emit a visible laser beam toward a controlable range including these electric appliances set within this field of view, and designate a certain one of the appliances by the resulting pointer within the controlable range, the video camera for extracting only the visible laser beam of a wave length picks up this pointer, and a control box detects the position of the pointer within the controlable range from the output of the camera so that the appliance designated by this pointer can be detected and remotely controlled by use of the remote controller.

  • Patent number: 6827902
Abstract: A biochemical analyzer for automatically analyzing components of a specimen, in which a specimen rack conveying part, a specimen introducing part, and a specimen storage part are arranged, independent from one another. The specimen introducing part, the analyzing part and the specimen storage part are coupled to one another along the longitudinal direction of the specimen conveying part. The heights of these three parts measured from the floor are from 850 to 950 mm, their depths are from 750 to 800 mm and their widths are multiples of the dimension of the specimen rack. A uniform appearance is achieved by having standardized dimensions. Also a low height provides better viewing and a lighter environment.

  • Patent number: 6278755
Abstract: A bit synchronization circuit extracts the central phase of an eye opening irrespective of a jitter distribution of input data to maintain an optimum timing adjustment margin. The bit synchronization circuit has a data edge detector for comparing the phases of an edge of the input data and m-phase clock signals divided from a reference clock. Data edge phase information from the data edge detector is accumulated by a phase accumulation register, which stores the jitter distribution of the input data as accumulated phase information. Based on the accumulated phase information, an eye center phase calculator decodes the negative and positive ends of a jitter range as negative jitter range information and positive jitter range information, and calculates a phase control direction in relation to an extracted phase value which represents a presently selected clock phase.

  • Patent number: 6217265
Abstract: A printed circuit board drilling machine, with a well-designed outer shape, providing excellent operability and maintainability, which sequentially makes a number of holes in at least one printed circuit board, placed on a table 22 moved in an XY plane, by using a drill driven by a spindle motor 27. The machine has openable/closable doors 20 and 21 which is separated into an upper door and a lower door in a front portion. The upper door 20 opens upward, while the lower door 21 opens downward. The upper door 20 comprises transparent material. Upon maintenance, the doors 20 and 21 are opened, and the table 22 is moved inwardly. Thus, the distance from the outside of the machine to the spindle motor 27 and its peripheral parts can be reduced, and maintenance can be easily performed with respect to the spindle motor 27 and its peripheral parts.

  • Patent number: 6166810
Abstract: A method and apparatus for precision distance measurement are provided to perform accurate measurement of distance to an object according to light spots formed on the light receiving surface of a detector even when multiple reflections are involved. A beam of light emitted from a light source and reflected from the object is focused on the viewing surface as light spots through an optical member. The focal position of a reflected beam of light is determined according to a focal position detection process. When there are peaks in a luminosity curve generated on the detector, prior to performing the focal position detection process, the peaks are separated into individual light spots and a correct light spot for deriving the precise distance is selected by a selection process.
