  • Publication number: 20100195413
Abstract: To provide a semiconductor memory device including a mode register in which a mode signal is set, a data amplifier that amplifies read data read from a memory cell array, a data bus onto which the read data amplified by the data amplifier is transmitted, a data input/output circuit that outputs a signal on the data bus to outside, and a mode signal output circuit that outputs the mode signal set in the mode register onto the data bus. Because the mode signal is not caused to interrupt halfway along the data input/output circuit, but supplied onto the data bus that connects the data amplifier to the data input/output circuit, no collision of the read data with the mode signal occurs in the data input/output circuit.

  • Publication number: 20100118971
Abstract: In a code amount estimating method, when encoding quantized values of coefficients of a larger-sized orthogonal transformation than an orthogonal transformation size assigned to a variable length encoding table, the quantized values are rearranged in a one-dimensional form, so as to obtain run-level sets. The number of groups is computed based on a proportion between an orthogonal transformation area corresponding to the orthogonal transformation size assigned to the variable length encoding table and an orthogonal transformation area for an encoding target. The Run-Level sets are classified into groups having the number of groups. Each Run is divided by the number of groups, and the obtained quotient is set as Run. A code length of each Run-Level set in each group is determined by referring to the variable length encoding table. The amount of generated code is estimated to be the total sum of the code lengths of all groups.

  • Patent number: 7715616
Abstract: A PC board inspecting method capable of detecting deviation of an IC component at high speed with small storage capacity utilizes inspection logic particular to a component to be inspected. The inspection logic includes a color condition for specifying a color appearing in the body of the component to be inspected. The component is radiated with a plurality of color rays at different angles of incidence. An image formed by reflection light of the color rays is captured, and an inspection image including at least part of an edge of the body of the component to be inspected is captured. By using the color condition, a component body area satisfying the color condition is extracted from the inspection image by an image process.

  • Publication number: 20100111184
Abstract: A motion vector search method used in video encoding which performs motion-compensated prediction. The method includes inputting a motion vector which has been searched for with respect to an encoding target block; computing a motion vector having a minimum overhead cost which minimizes the amount of code generated for the motion vector of the encoding target block; limiting a search area based on the input motion vector and the motion vector having the minimum overhead cost; and searching for a motion vector by searching only the limited search area. It is possible to compute a predicted vector of the encoding target block based on a motion vector of an already-encoded block in the vicinity of the target block, and determine the computed predicted vector to be the motion vector having the minimum overhead cost.

  • Publication number: 20100014583
Abstract: A quantization control method used in a video encoding which encodes a video image and performs control for making an encoding bit rate approach a predetermined target bit rate. The quantization control method includes measuring a differential amount of code between a target amount of code and an amount of generated code; determining whether or not a predetermined condition has occurred; determining, when it is determined that the condition has occurred, a variation for an amount of feedback which increases or decreases a quantization step size, and changing the amount of feedback based on the determined variation; and increasing or decreasing the quantization step size based on the measured differential amount of code and the changed amount of feedback. If there are a plurality of the predetermined conditions, a final variation for the amount of feedback may be determined by applying a specific operation to variations for the amount of feedback, which are determined for the individual conditions.

  • Publication number: 20090153611
Abstract: A method of moving a cap apart from a printhead within a short period of time without damaging a printing apparatus when the cap sticks to the printhead. A cap moving unit is driven to try to move the cap apart from the printhead. When a detection unit for detecting that the cap has moved apart from the printhead detects that the cap has not moved apart from the printhead, it is controlled to slightly reciprocate the carriage while driving the cap moving unit. When the detection unit detects that the cap has moved apart from the printhead under this control, the slight reciprocation of the carriage is forcibly stopped.

  • Publication number: 20080019289
Abstract: Before software for a routing protocol in a second wireless terminal receives a routing packet between a first wireless terminal and the second wireless terminal that are both included in an ad hoc network, stability determining software determines whether or not a link between the first wireless terminal, which is the source of the routing packet, and the second wireless terminal is stable. When the link is determined to be stable, the software for the routing protocol in the second wireless terminal processes the routing packet. This allows building of a route using only a stable link between adjacent nodes.
