Patent number: 9386589Abstract: The present invention relates to a method to be carried out by a network support apparatus for managing resources of the apparatus, a method for managing resources of a network node, an apparatus for supporting the operation of a network and a resource management device, which particularly enable the determination of load at the apparatus or network node to allow more resource efficient scheduling of PM functions. The method carried out by the network support apparatus for managing resources comprises determining a load at the network support apparatus based on the number of events generated by recordings activated by at least one performance management function in a time period; comparing the determined load with a threshold load smaller than or equal to the maximum load supported by the network support apparatus; and performing a resource management procedure according to the result of the comparing step.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2011Date of Patent: July 5, 2016Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventor: Attila Báder

Patent number: 9351272Abstract: This disclosure provides a method, a Back-end-server (102, 400, 506) and a system (500) for protection of location information of a UE. The Back-end-server can receive (104, 202, 302) a request message from an operator interface (504) requesting location information of the UE. Based on probability criteria or blocking factors, it is determined (110, 208, 306-310) whether location information may be transferred to the operator interface. One advantage is that a quantitative security for the privacy of subscribers is provided, with which the privacy of the subscribers is not disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2012Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Lászlo Zömbik, Attila Báder, József Barta

Patent number: 9269040Abstract: A device (10) for processing events (4), including an identifier (8) identifying the event's type, and at least one parameter carrying information about a process, includes an event selector (20) and an event type recognizer (30). The device (10) is configured for receiving an event (4), providing the event (4) to the event selector (20), and providing the identifier (8) to the event type recognizer (30). The event selector (20) stores the provided event (4). The event type recognizer (30) determines, using at least one neural network unit, whether the identifier (8) corresponds to a type for which a subscription exists, and, if so, it causes the event selector (20) to transmit the event (4S) for processing by one or more applications. Furthermore, the device (10) is configured for allowing one or more types of event to be subscribed to. The invention also relates to methods for processing events (4).Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2011Date of Patent: February 23, 2016Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSONInventor: Attila Báder

Patent number: 9094349Abstract: A network node for reserving resources for data flows in a communication network. The node detects a request for resource reservation for a new data flow and computes an admission test count based on descriptors of the new data flow and reservation counts, which represent reservation functions of descriptors of previously admitted data flows and which specify resources of the admitted data flows. The new data flow is admitted if the admission test count is smaller than a maximum allowable count. The reservation counts are then updated based on the descriptors of the new data flow. A plurality of admission formulas may thus be used to maintain aggregated reservation counts for data flows, the number of counts being independent from the number of flows.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2013Date of Patent: July 28, 2015Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: András Császár, Attila Takács, Attila Báder

Publication number: 20140227992Abstract: In LTE, there is no control node that collects Performance Management (PM) data from base stations, like a Base Station Controller (BSC) or Radio Network Controller (RNC) does for 2G/3G systems. Instead, an Operating Support System (OSS) has to collect PM data directly from eNodeBs, thereby causing scalability issues. A method of improved PM for LTE networks uses the statistical counters defined in the eNodeB and counters created from elementary events and parameters of events. Specific counters or user-defined counters can be defined that are, for example, not traditionally implemented in the nodes, or that use events from additional Network Elements (NEs). The counter files and events are collected by an observation gateway or directly by the PM application, and are monitored in different time scales. The counters are also aggregated for different time periods, thereby providing scalability and time-based statistics for the counter values.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 15, 2014Publication date: August 14, 2014Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventor: Attila Báder

Patent number: 8780710Abstract: A method of managing quality of service in an IP network is provided. The method comprises identifying, at an egress edge node of the network, that congestion is present in one or more routers within the network. Data flows for termination to remove the congestion are selected. At least one flow termination notification is sent from the egress edge node to an ingress edge node of the network, the at least one flow termination notification identifying the selected data flows. Low priority flows from the selected data flows are terminated at the ingress edge node immediately. High priority flows are terminated only if congestion is still present after a predetermined delay period. The delay may be applied in the ingress edge node or the egress edge node. The invention also provides a method for admitting low priority flows into the network only if the network has resources available for a number of high priority flows above a dynamically determined threshold.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2007Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Attila Bader, Andras Csaszar
