  • Publication number: 20170121874
Abstract: An apparatus for making a high loft, non-woven web exhibiting excellent recovery is disclosed. The web has a 3-dimensional structure with fibers oriented in the x, y and z directions. The apparatus includes a die having 2 to 20 rows of nozzles with each row containing a plurality of nozzles. A pair of moving surfaces is located from a distal end of each nozzle. The pair of moving surfaces form a convergent passage. A pair of heaters is used to heat each of the pair of moving surfaces. A plurality of filaments are deposited onto the pair of moving surfaces and are routed through the convergent passage to form a 3-dimensional structure having two thin outer skins.

  • Publication number: 20170101182
Abstract: Embodiments relate to transport of products in a region. A delivery system is mounted to an overhead surface of a region, and at least one in communication with the delivery system is subject to movement along sections of the delivery system. The delivery system has a primary section extending through a length of the region, and a secondary section extending relatively perpendicular to the primary section. More specifically, the at least one container is subject to movement along at least first and second axes to transport a product for delivery to a destination. The first axis is parallel with the primary and secondary sections. The second axis is orthogonal to the first axis and the delivery system.

  • Patent number: 9615333
Abstract: According to one embodiment, a first battery number is determined representing a battery condition of a battery of a mobile device using a predictive model, where the predictive model is configured to predict future battery conditions based on a past battery usage of the battery. A second battery number is determined representing the battery condition using a drain model, where the drain model is configured to predict a future battery discharge rate based on a past battery discharge rate. A third battery number is determined representing the battery condition based on a current battery level corresponding to a remaining life of the battery at the point in time. Power management logic performs a power management action based on the battery condition derived from at least one of the first battery number, the second battery number and the third battery number.

  • Publication number: 20170004057
Abstract: A computer program product is provided for extending network services addresses. The computer program product comprises a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to identify a network event affecting a node of a sub-cluster of nodes of a network, wherein the node provides external access to the network using an Internet Protocol (IP) address. The program instructions are also executable by the processor to cause the processor to, in response to identifying the network event, identify an attribute associated with the IP address of the node. Finally, the program instructions are executable by the processor to cause the processor to, based on the attribute associated with the IP address of the node, determine whether to move the IP address of the node to another node of the sub-cluster.

  • Publication number: 20170003372
Abstract: A dimensional measuring device sends a beam of light to a remote probe having a retroreflector and a pitch/yaw sensor. The pitch/yaw sensor passes the light through an aperture and a lens to a position sensor that generates an electrical signal indicative of the position of the received light. A processor uses the electrical signal to determine a pitch angle and a yaw angle of the remote probe.

  • Publication number: 20160375566
Abstract: A tool for tightening a coupling nut includes: a hollow shaft having a length, an outer diameter, and a thickness, the hollow shaft including a longitudinal gap extending between a first end and a second end of the shaft, the shaft being formed of a resilient material; and a plurality of faces located on an inner diameter of the shaft adjacent one of the ends, the faces arranged to receive a coupling nut. The dimensions and material are selected so that, when the faces of the tool engage a coupling nut and a torque is applied to the shaft below a preselected level, the faces maintain engagement with the coupling nut, thereby rotating the coupling nut, but when a torque exceeding the preselected level is applied to the shaft, the shaft deflects sufficiently that the faces slip relative to the coupling nut, thereby preventing rotation of the coupling nut.

  • Publication number: 20160242889
Abstract: A hernia repair prosthesis comprises a segmented frame forming a closed loop where a first segment comprises a helical hollow tube and a second segment comprises a solid strand. Both segments are preferably a metal exhibiting shape memory properties and the two segments are assembled with end portions of the second segment inserted into the lumen at opposed end portions of the first segment with a clearance fit. At manufacture, a covering layer of a bio-absorbable polymer on the end portions of the second strand is sufficiently sized to create a temporary interference fit between the two segments to inhibit relative movement between them. The ability of the intercoupled segment to move relative to one another is restored upon degradation of the polymer due to exposure to body fluids following implantation of the prostheses. A prosthetic fabric is attached to the segmented frame.
