  • Publication number: 20070133830
Abstract: The invention concerns a low profile, liquid sealed audio component assembly (100). The assembly can include a seal (112) having an opening (114), a membrane (120) that can cover the opening and that can substantially block liquid from entering the seal and an audio component (122) contained within the seal and positioned outside a coverage area (C) underneath the membrane. The membrane can transfer acoustic signals to or from the audio component. In addition, the coverage area underneath the membrane can correspond to the area of the membrane that can receive acoustic signals. As an example, the audio component can be a microphone.

  • Publication number: 20070123317
Abstract: A seal (200) in a communication device (100) and a method (600) for assembling the communication device are disclosed. A transducer (402) is positioned on a transducer portion (202) of the seal. The seal comprises an audio port (208) and an audio tunnel (206). A display (106) is positioned on a display portion (204) of the seal. The transducer, the display and the seal are positioned inside the communication device to enable the audio port and the audio tunnel to route audio signals out of the communication device.

  • Publication number: 20070119620
Abstract: The invention concerns a method (600) and systems (200, 400, 500) for shielding at least one electrical component (104) by using a flexible shielding circuit (102). In one arrangement, the method can include the steps of mounting (604) the electrical component on a first portion (202) of the flexible shielding circuit and covering (606) at least one exposed surface of the electrical component with a second portion (204) of the flexible shielding circuit. Additionally, the method can also include the step of selectively securing (608) the second portion to the first portion with a conductive adhesive (206).

  • Publication number: 20060246964
Abstract: An electronic device (100) can include a base portion (105) and a flip portion (110) moveably attached to the base portion (105) through a single hinge twist mechanism (200) such that the flip portion (110) is capable of rotating about a first axis (115) to a first open position and twisting about a second axis (120) to a second open position. The second axis (120) can be substantially perpendicular to the first axis (115).

  • Publication number: 20060141875
Abstract: The invention concerns an ejection mechanism (110). The ejection mechanism can include a movable ejection button (118) having at least one wing (124) and a cover (112) having at least one first projection (130) and at least one second projection (138). When the ejection button is in a first position, the first projection of the cover can engage the wing of the ejection button, and the second projection can engage a slot (140) of a housing (114). The second projection engaging the slot of the housing can cause a force (F) to be generated at an opposing end (131) of the cover. Also, when the ejection button is moved to a second position, the first projection of the cover can disengage the wing of the ejection button, and the generated force can cause the cover to move away from the housing.

  • Publication number: 20050017948
Abstract: A wireless device lighting system provides backlighting of a display (104) and/or a user interface (1526) of a wireless device (100). A user interface (1526) includes a plurality of buttons (112) for entering information and at least one multicolor LED for emitting light. The at least one multicolor LED is located behind the plurality of buttons (112). The user interface (1526) further includes a connector for connecting the user interface (1526) to the wireless device (100) and a circuit board for mounting the at least one multicolor LED and the connector. The user interface (1526) further includes a light pipe for allowing light emitted from the at least one multicolor LED to be emitted from the buttons (112), the light pipe located between the at least one multicolor LED and the buttons (112). The user interface (1526) further includes a selector for allowing a user to define a color of light for emission by the at least one multicolor LED.

  • Patent number: 6260759
Abstract: A method for tracking a target having substantially constrained movement utilizes the steps of determining constrains for movement of the target, obtaining information on movement of the target, and predicting that the target will continue to move upon a route segment after the target has begun to move thereupon. The constraints are made up of a plurality of separate alternate route segments. Predicting that the target will continue to move upon the route segment upon which it is previously moving facilitates targeting, intercept and intelligence with a substantial degree of reliability, particularly when continuing information, such as radar returns, is not available.
