  • Patent number: 9323445
Abstract: Methods may provide drilling of displayed content in a touch screen device. A method may include detecting a touch gesture by a user on a first portion of displayed content on a touch display. The first portion may include a drillable data element having at least a first dimension, a second dimension and a third dimension. The method may further include detecting information associated with the touch gesture, determining a requested drilling action based at least in part on the detected information, the requested drilling action including at least one of a change of a displayed drill dimension and a change of a displayed drill degree, sending the requested drilling action of the first portion to a report server and presenting a drilled first portion on the touch display.

  • Publication number: 20160105526
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to file sharing, and more specifically to sharing image files based on a spatiotemporal relationship. A device with image taking capabilities, such as a camera or mobile computing device, is provided with functionality to communicate with a shared pool of resources via a network connection. The device is connected to a network at a venue. As image files are captured in the venue, social contact metadata from all connected devices is embedded with the captured file(s). These files are published to a shared storage, and the publication includes the social contact metadata. Other image files from other devices may be added to the shared storage, with each added file having embedded social contact metadata. Authority to access the image files located on the shared storage is granted to social networking users based on their social networking name being contained within the embedded social contact metadata.

  • Publication number: 20160103853
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to file sharing, and more specifically to sharing image files based on a social networking relationship. A digital image and associated file are created with geotag data that defines an image capture. Data associated with the image capture is stored as image metadata associated with the image file. A hyperlink to a preferred viewing URL is created and established based on a match produced from a comparison of the image file image capture data with at least one physical location identified in an index of cached data. The hyperlink is associated with the image file and directs a viewer to the physical and/or virtual location where the image was captured.

  • Publication number: 20160034134
Abstract: At an application executing using a processor in a touch-sensitive device, a detection is made that the touch-based gesture does not correspond to a perimeter defining a action, wherein the touch-based gesture is made relative to the touch-sensitive device. A set of possible actions intended by the touch-based gesture is determined. Using a disambiguation rule, an action is selected from the set of possible actions, wherein the selected action matches an action computed using the disambiguation rule. The selected action is caused to occur at the touch-sensitive device.

  • Publication number: 20160018240
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for presenting the viewability of a point of interest (POI) on a map are provided in the illustrative embodiments. A set of viewing coverage information is located. A subset of the viewing coverage information is associated with a point of observation on the map. A viewing coverage information corresponds to a view of the POI from the point of observation. The viewing coverage information comprises a viewing coverage fraction that represents a portion of the POI visible in the view. The point of observation is plotted corresponding to the subset of the viewing coverage information such that the point of observation is represented on the map as a visually distinct area on the map and has a corresponding combined viewing coverage value. A plot of the point of observation resulting from the plotting is presented on the map as an overlay.

  • Publication number: 20150370434
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for presenting search term suggestions on a graphical user interface (GUI) are provided in the illustrative embodiments. A first keyword is extracted from a first suggested search term, the first suggested search term being a member of a subset of a set of suggested search terms. On the GUI a first graphical artifact is identified, wherein the first graphical artifact relates to the first keyword. The first graphical artifact is modified such that a modified first graphical artifact presents a default function of the first graphical artifact, and a first function of the modified first graphical artifact on the GUI. The modified first graphical artifact is presented on the GUI to receive one of a default input and a first input.

  • Publication number: 20150371363
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for unobtrusive sizing and placement of pop-ups are provided in the illustrative embodiments. In a method for displaying a pop-up graphical user interface (GUI), using a device to detect eye movements, a first area of a display device is detected where a content is being displayed, the first area being where an attention of a user is focused. A change in the attention of the user to a second area during a future period is predicted. A third area is identified on the display device, wherein the third area excludes the first and the second areas. The pop-up GUI is displayed in the third area.

  • Publication number: 20150373273
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for visualizing pinpoint attraction objects in three dimensional space are provided in the illustrative embodiments. A determination is made that an image includes an object of interest, a first observer observing the object of interest from a first perspective. An observation position is determined from which the image has been captured. A perspective information is computed from the observation position to the object of interest, wherein the perspective information is sufficient to allow a second observer to observe the object of interest from the first perspective. The perspective information is stored, in a repository accessible by a second observer, as tag data associated with the object of interest.

  • Publication number: 20150373299
Abstract: In a touch-based device presenting a media content playback, a first increment of a first control is determined. The first control allows a user to move forward or back in the media content in steps of the first increment using a touch-based gesture. A second increment and a size of a second control is computed using the first increment and a factor. The second increment is smaller than the first increment. The second control is constructed and presented according to the second increment and the size of the second control, the second control allowing the user to move forward or back in the media content in steps of the second increment. Responsive to the user using the second control, a forward or back movement in the media content by a multiple of the second increment is performed.

  • Publication number: 20150373398
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for recording and sharing televised content are provided in the illustrative embodiments. The televised content is selected at a first device associated with a first subscriber. A determination is made that a second device associated with a second subscriber should be used for recording the televised content. The first device and the second device are configured by a content provider to not share any recorded content. A request to record the televised content at the second device is sent from the first device to the second device. The second device is caused to create a recording of the televised content at the second device responsive to the request. The second device is caused to grant the first subscriber access to the recording responsive to the request. A transmission of the recording is received at the first device from the second device.

  • Publication number: 20150363416
Abstract: A computer file system contains items such as files and folders represented by identifiers such as file names and folder names. When a user of the file system selects a swim lane process flow diagram display mode, a navigation tool selects a swim lane display template. The swim lane display template provides interconnected process blocks arranged into swim lanes. A swim lane represents an organizational unit, and the process blocks located within the swim lane are associated with that organizational unit. The navigation tool then assigns the identifiers to the various process blocks in the template, for example by determining that the identifiers satisfy rules associated with the process blocks to which they are assigned. The populated swim lane display template is then displayed to the user.

  • Patent number: 9210164
Abstract: A server computing device for a social networking web site receives from a user, via access of the web site, confidential information regarding the user, including information that the user does not socially share on the web site. The device associates the confidential information with a user identifier that uniquely identifies the user on the web site, and with an export group identifier corresponding to a type of the confidential information. The device associates the export group identifier with a password different from a user password the user employs to access the web site. The device receives, from a third party, a purported user identifier, a purported export group identifier, and a purported password, which the device validates against the user identifier, the export group identifier, and the password. Where validation is successful, the device permits access to the confidential information by the third party.

  • Patent number: 9203951
Abstract: A mobile telephone is adapted for use with one hand. In one embodiment, the mobile phone comprises a pressure-sensitive detector situated along a side edge portion. An object of interest to the phone's user is detected (for example, using a gaze-point tracker) from among at least one object displayed on the display surface, and invocable operation(s) are determined for that object. A graphical representation of a respective one of the operations is positioned on the display screen in proximity of the current location of each contacting finger of the user, where each positioned graphical representation is operable to invoke the respective operation in response to the user indicating a selection (for example, by applying relatively more pressure thereto) of the positioned graphical representation.
