  • Patent number: 10727050
Abstract: A method for wafer-level deposition of a semiconductor layer structure including at least one two-dimensional black phosphorus layer. The method includes providing a wafer substrate and a metal catalyst layer on the substrate. The method includes heating a phosphorus material to generate a P4 flux and heating the P4 flux to generate a P2 flux, where the P2 flux is deposited on the metal catalyst layer using molecular beam epitaxy or chemical vapor deposition. The process of depositing the black phosphorus layer can include adding a dopant or alloy to the P2 flux to modify the band gap of the phosphorus layer. The method includes heating the substrate to a temperature above a temperature that causes red phosphorus to evaporate from the substrate, but does not cause black phosphorus to evaporate from the substrate.

  • Patent number: 10716919
Abstract: A delivery sheath includes an outer tubular layer and an initially folded inner tubular layer. When an implant passes therethrough, the outer tubular layer expands and the inner tubular layer unfolds into an expanded lumen diameter. The sheath may also include selectively placed longitudinal support rods that mediate friction between the inner and outer tubular layers to facilitate easy expansion, thereby reducing the push force needed to advance the implant through the sheath's lumen.

  • Publication number: 20200226045
Abstract: A method and apparatus to detect, initialize and isolate a non-operating memory module in a system without physically removing the memory module from the system is provided. The memory module includes a power management integrated circuit to provide power to a memory integrated circuit on the memory module. During initialization of the memory module, if an error log stored in a non-volatile memory in the memory module indicates a fatal error condition from a prior power cycle, the memory module is electrically isolated.

  • Publication number: 20200214840
Abstract: A delivery apparatus for implanting a radially compressible and expandable prosthetic heart valve in a native heart valve of the heart includes a handle portion and an elongated shaft extending from and movable relative to the handle portion. The shaft includes a proximal end portion coupled to the handle portion and a distal end portion configured to mount a prosthetic heart valve in a radially compressed state. The handle portion includes a control member movable longitudinally with respect to the handle portion, the control member engaging a gear assembly operable to convert longitudinal motion of the control member to rotational motion of the gear assembly. • Publication number: 20200215535
Abstract: An assay preparation device is an apparatus that is used to contain a variety of reagents and samples, to combine these fluids in a desirable order, to agitate the fluids through rotation of adsorbent petals, to contain the resulting waste products, and to allow for wavelength analysis of the results. The apparatus includes a reaction chamber, an intake port, a sample-retaining spinner, a first reading slit, a plurality of fluid-retaining receptacles, a plurality of input valves, and a waste valve. The plurality of input valves is connected to the plurality of fluid-retaining receptacles, allowing the user to control fluid flow into the reaction chamber. The sample-retaining spinner collects the fluids in the reaction chamber. Upon reaction completion, the waste valve is opened to allow for removal of fluids from the reaction chamber. The first reading slit provides a window for wavelength examination tools to examine and analyze the reaction results.

  • Patent number: 10639152
Abstract: Disclosed herein are expandable introducer sheaths and methods of making and using the same. The sheaths minimize trauma to a patient's vasculature by allowing for temporary expansion of a portion of the sheath to accommodate passage of a delivery system for an implant, then return to a non-expanded state after the passage of the device. The sheath includes a foldable inner member having a detached flap structure at its distal tip that facilitates expansion of the sheath lumen to increased diameters, and an elastomeric distal end that reduces push and retrieval forces therethrough. The sheath can include a hemostasis seal on its proximal end to prevent the leakage of blood out of the sheath and prevent ballooning of outer layer of the sheath.

  • Patent number: 10616374
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products are disclosed for dynamically determining an optimal node of an overlay network for client attachment. An optimal node can be selected from a group of potential attachment nodes in the overlay network through which a client can establish a connection to the overlay network. Network parameter training data can be determined and used to train a network optimization model. Once trained, the network optimization model can be used to determine—based on network parameter data associated with the group of potential attachment nodes—the optimal node for the client to attach to. If a different node than a current attachment node is determined to be a new optimal node, a connection path can be established between this new optimal node and the client, and an existing connection path between the client and the previous optimal node can be terminated or simultaneously maintained.
