  • Publication number: 20140237256
Abstract: A method for securing data uses a unitary device to obtain a biometric reading from a user, and to generate a new key pair corresponding to the user's biometrics. The unitary device uses a private key from the key pair to encrypt data or voice, sends the encrypted data or voice to a second device and deletes the private key. The unitary device can authenticate the user using a previously generated public key corresponding to the user's biometrics. Also, the second device can decrypt the received data or voice using a public key corresponding to the user and previously received from the unitary device.

  • Patent number: 8498618
Abstract: A method and apparatus for intelligent authentication based on proximity and using a short wireless device. The method checks if the user captured a PIN code recently and if no signal drop was detected since the last PIN capture. It obtains user data from a unitary short wireless device and authenticates it. If the user PIN was not captured recently, or if a signal drop was recently detected, the user is asked to enter a PIN code.

  • Publication number: 20130073672
Abstract: A system includes a central program store location having a memory storing a plurality of access keys and programs. A communication network connects the program store location and a host system. A communication channel connects the host system and a target system. The program store a first program and a second program to the host system. The host system then tries to download the second program to the target system. If the target system authenticates the second program signatures and/or keys, the second program and/or keys is downloaded. The first program and the second program enable the host system and the target system to exchange information.

  • Publication number: 20120195367
Abstract: Disclosed are adaptive loop filtering techniques for video encoding and/or decoding. For a video unit, the encoder selects a set of predefined filters or generates a set of new filters, and places into the bitstream information identifying the set of predefined filters, or information defining the set of new filters. The set of filters may be used for loop filtering of at least one of the reconstructed samples of the video unit. At the decoder, a set of filters may be obtained by, decoding an index that identifies a set of predefined filters, or by decoding information related to a set of new filters. The obtained set of filters may be used for loop filtering of at least one decoded and reconstructed sample of the video unit.

  • Publication number: 20120189064
Abstract: Disclosed are adaptive loop filtering techniques in the context of video encoding and/or decoding. For each video unit, the encoder can select a filter shape, and can place into the bitstream information that identifies the filter shape. At least one filter whose shape is the selected filter shape is used to loop filter at least one sample. At the decoder, a filter shape is obtained by decoding information that identifies the filter shape. At least one filter whose shape is the obtained filter shape is used to loop filter at least one reconstructed sample. Different filter shapes are also disclosed.
