  • Patent number: 8716389
Abstract: Fluid activatable adhesive compositions and activating fluid(s) for activating the adhesive composition are described herein. The adhesive compositions contain at least two polymers with different hydrophilicities. The hydrophilic polymer has quick tack when exposed to a hydrophilic solvent, such as water or other aqueous solvent, while the hydrophobic polymer provides strong adhesion to a paper or polymeric substrate. The adhesive composition may contain particulate fillers which enable fast exhaustion of the activation fluid out of the adhesive when applied to a substrate, thereby allowing the hydrophobic polymers of the adhesive composition to achieve strong adhesion of the liner-free label to the paper or polymeric substrate. The particulate fillers may also function as anti-blocking agents when liner-free label media are tightly wound in a roll.

  • Patent number: 8707590
Abstract: A lock for an attachment system that connects a ground engaging tool to a bucket lip. The lock is disposed, in use, between lug of a lip of the bucket and the ground engaging tool. The lock has a body, a force applying member and a force receiving member. Application of force by the force applying member causes the force receiving member to protrude from a first side of the body and to engage the lug. Relative hardnesses of the lug, the body, the force applying member and the force receiving member are such that application of a sufficiently large force via the lug to the protruding portion of the force receiving member preferentially deforms the protruding portion of the force receiving member ahead of deformation of the body or the force applying member as a preferred lock failure mode.

  • Patent number: 8701633
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of operating an internal combustion engine. With reference to FIGS. (1), (2) and (5), fluid is supplied to charge air using an injector (116, 3116a, 3116b) which in each operation delivers a set amount of fluid. The amount of fluid supplied to the charge air in each engine cycle is controlled by how many times the injector (116, 3116a, 3116b) operates in each cycle. A desired fluid demand is calculated as a number of operations of the injector per cycle, calculated to at least one decimal place. The desired fluid demand is always rounded down or always rounded up to a near integer to provide an output fluid demand for the injector as a number of operations of the injector for the next operating cycle in varying operating conditions of the engine. The rounding difference is aggregated and when the aggregate passes an integer then the fluid demand is adjusted.

  • Publication number: 20140103549
Abstract: The present invention is related to a single serve carbonation apparatus comprising a carcass that supports components including a removable pressurized gas canister, a canister receiver that regulates the flow of gas, an operative spigot to receive the bottled beverage and provide the gas inlet, a tap handle mechanism, and internal tubing to provide the channeling of gas and pressurized liquid throughout the process. With gas canister inserted and the selected beverage attached to the operative spigot, the circuit is then switched on allowing the gas into the bottle creating a pressurized flow of draught-like beverage, dispensed via the tap handle, into the glass. The present apparatus allows users to enjoy any bottled beverage at any time. The installation and removal of said canister is easy, keeping the unit small, portable and affordable. There is no need to power the unit since the bottles are already chilled.
