Abstract: A system is configured to receive an alert status, associated with a first user device, based on the first user device connecting with a mobile alert device, where the alert status is associated with an instruction to prevent calls from being sent to the first user device, and where the alert status indicates that a user, associated with the first user device, is operating a vehicle. The system is configured to receive a call instruction from a second user device, where the call instruction includes an instruction to place a call from the second user device to the first user device. The system is further configured to send the alert status to the second user device, based on receiving the alert status and the call instruction.

Abstract: A system is configured to receive information associated with a flow being transported via a cell within a radio access network (RAN) associated with a service provider network; identify a user device, associated with the flow, based on the information; identify a location of the device based on a location of the cell; generate a group of codes based on the location, the codes corresponding to a group of code lengths and representing one or more quantities of error associated with the location, where a particular code is associated with a code length that corresponds to a quantity of error; and transmit the codes to a content provider, where the codes enable the content provider to obtain the quantity of error that corresponds to a geographical boundary in which the user device is located, and target content, associated with an advertiser within the boundary, to the user device.

Abstract: A system is configured to receive an indication that a connection with a user device is to be lost, the connection being associated with a call between the user device and another user device; provide an instruction, to one or more devices, to maintain the call when the connection is lost, the one or more devices being responsible for processing the call; detect that the connection is lost; provide, to the one or more devices, a first notification that the connection is lost, the first notification causing the one or more devices to maintain the call based on the instruction to maintain the call when the connection is lost; detect that the connection is re-established; and provide, to the one or more devices, a second notification that the connection is re-established, the second notification causing the one or more devices to re-establish the call.

Abstract: A system is configured to receive a request for a customization packet associated with a user device; retrieve data associated with the device; encode portions of the network data using a group of keys, where each portion is encoded using a different one of the keys, and where each key corresponds to a different set of fields, of one or more sets of fields within the packet; store the encoded portions in the one or more sets of fields within the packet; and transmit, to a content provider, the packet, where the packet enables the content provider to decode all or a portion of the network data using one of the keys, and where all or the portion of the decoded network data enables the content provider to generate customized content for the device.

Abstract: A device receives a first message from a first network element of a network grid. The device determines, based on the first message, whether a threshold is reached for the first network element of the network grid. The device further reprograms, when the threshold is reached, a second network element of the network grid to function in same first role as the first network element. Prior to the reprogramming of the second network element, the second network element functions in a second role that is different from the first role. The device also shifts processing from the first network element to the second network element.

Abstract: A system is provided that can include one or more devices to: identify an event that has a predefined start time and end time, determine that a particular amount of bandwidth is needed for the event, and generate a notification that identifies the particular amount of bandwidth and the predefined start time and end time for the event, where the particular amount of bandwidth is reserved on a channel for the predefined start time and end time, for the event, in response to the notification.

Abstract: A method and system for integrating location based services into retail applications. Correlation-data and request-trigger logic are stored in data storage of a portable device. The correlation-data defines geographic locations and corresponding network addresses. The portable device determines its geographic location (i.e. by using a GPS receiver device). In response to determining its location, the portable device uses the request-trigger logic to determine if its present location is within a geographic area defined in the correlation-data. When the request-trigger logic finds that the location is within a defined area, the portable device responsively sends an information-request to a network address pre-correlated with the given location. In response to the information-request, the portable device receives merchant-information (i.e. coupons, special offers, etc.) from a merchant-server. The portable device displays the merchant information for viewing by a user.

Abstract: A device is configured to receive a request for a first user, of a first telephone device, to leave a voice mail message for a second user of a second telephone device; retrieve a profile associated with the second telephone device and to determine, based on the profile, whether the second telephone device is registered for a selective voice mail service; determine, based on the profile, whether the first user is allowed to leave the voice mail message when the second telephone device is registered for the selective voice mail service; and allow the first user to leave the voice mail message for the second user of the second telephone device when the second telephone device is not registered for the selective voice mail service or when the first user is allowed to leave the voice mail message.

Abstract: A device receives network infrastructure requirements from a user, and selects, based on the network infrastructure requirements, at least one of a virtual core network, a virtual network resource, and a virtual system from resources provided in a cloud computing environment. The device also enables use of the selected at least one of the virtual core network, the virtual network resource, and the virtual system by the user. The device receives, from the user, traffic destined for the selected at least one of the virtual core network, the virtual network resource, and the virtual system, and provides the traffic to the selected at least one of the virtual core network, the virtual network resource, and the virtual system.

Abstract: A device receives network infrastructure requirements, and determines availabilities of network resources based on the network infrastructure requirements. The device recommends one or more of the network resources based on the availabilities of the network resources, and receives selection of particular network resources from the recommended one or more network resources. The device also connects the particular network resources to create a virtual network template, and verifies requirements for the particular network resources. The device further tests the virtual network template, and deploys the virtual network template via the particular network resources when the testing of the virtual network template is successful.

Abstract: A system is configured to receive an indication that a user device is registered with a network; and generate, as a result of receiving the indication, one or more packets associated with one or more flows between the user device and one or more network devices, based on one or more prior flows between the user device and the network devices, where each of the packets identifies a respective period time during which each of the flows is to be valid. The system may also be configured to transmit the packets to the network devices, where transmitting the packets allows the network devices to establish the flows between the user device and the network devices, or discard or over-write information, stored in a memory, associated with the prior flows.

Each of the video quality metrics may correspond to a characteristic of the delivery of the video content from the content source to the user device or the video presentation conditions corresponding to the user device. The network device may also be configured to determine, based on the video quality metrics, a video quality score that corresponds to an estimated user viewing experience corresponding to the video content. The network device may also be configured to communicate the video quality score to an operator of the network.

Abstract: A generic interface may be provided for parameters relating to one or more wireless networks. In one implementation, a method may include monitoring parameters relating to a 3G wireless network and a 4G wireless network. The method may also include receiving a request, from a network element, to create a custom interface for the parameters relating to the 3G wireless network and the 4G wireless network, the request including an indication of a subset of the parameters that are to be included in the custom interface. The method may further include providing the custom interface to the network element in order to provide the subset of the parameters to the network element.

Abstract: A server device may receive an indication that a mobile device has enrolled in a cache subscription service. The server device may receive cache parameters associated with the cache subscription service, where the cache parameters are specific to the mobile device. Content may be retrieved from a network and stored, in a memory associated with the one or more server devices, based on the received cache parameters. The server device may receive, from the mobile device, a request for particular content, determine whether the request for particular content corresponds to content that is stored in the memory, and provide, when determining that the requested particular content corresponds to content that is stored in the memory, the corresponding stored content to the mobile device.

Abstract: An exemplary system includes a first mobile telephone switching office subsystem configured to receive and forward network traffic, a second mobile telephone switching office subsystem configured to receive and forward network traffic, and a hub router communicatively connected to the first and second mobile telephone switching office subsystems via at least one network backhaul connection. The hub router configured to establish at least one communication tunnel from the hub router to the first mobile telephone switching office subsystem and establish at least one backup communication tunnel from the hub router to the second mobile telephone switching office subsystem, wherein the at least one backup communication tunnel is pre-signaled as a backup to the at least one communication tunnel. Abstract: An exemplary method includes monitoring a performance of at least one of a plurality of layer-2 network paths connecting a layer-2 network switch device to another layer-2 network switch device and selecting an optimal one of the plurality of layer-2 network paths over which to forward data traffic based on a path selection heuristic and the monitored performance of the at least one of the plurality of layer-2 network paths. At least a portion of the exemplary method may be performed by a layer-2 network switching system. In certain embodiments, the selecting of the optimal one of the plurality of layer-2 network paths over which to forward the data traffic is based on at least one of a latency parameter, a congestion parameter, and a cost parameter associated with the at least one of the plurality of layer-2 network paths. Corresponding systems and methods are also disclosed.
