  • Patent number: 8676202
Abstract: A technique is disclosed, according to which a race condition between a PMIPv6 binding by a PBU message of PMIPv6 and a CMIPv6 binding by a BU message of CMIPv6 can be resolved. MN 200 has a plurality of radio communication interfaces, and a first interface is connected to MAG 220 of a home PMIPv6 domain 230, for instance. In case the connection of a second interface is changed from MAG 221 of a home PMIPv6 domain to AR 222 of a CMIPv6 domain 231, a BU message 262 is transmitted from the second interface to LMA/HA 250, and identification information of this BU message is notified to MAG from the first interface. By adding time information to this identification information and by transmitting it to LMA/HA, MAG can identify transmission time of the BU message (i.e. relative order with the other messages) from this time information.

  • Patent number: 8666414
Abstract: Disclosed is a technique for reducing delay when a mobile communication terminal starts communication and reducing consumption of a power resource of the mobile communication terminal. An MN (mobile node) (1012) has plural interfaces (IF-1 (1030) and IF-2 (1028)). One interface IF-1 is connected to a connection point (serving PoA (1008)). When switching over from communication using the IF-1 to communication using the IF-2, the MN transmits a paging request message via the IF-1 and the serving PoA to a connection point (target PoA (1010)) attempted to connect using the IF-2. The target PoA that has received the paging request message reduces a beacon transmission cycle and sets transmission slots for the MN so that the connection of the MN can be established efficiently.

  • Patent number: 8539554
Abstract: Disclosed is a technique capable of proper execution of access control based on various security policies set by a home user with regards to a packet sent from a visitor node. According to the technique, a MR (Mobile Router) 10 which manages a mobile PAN 30 determines whether a sender of a packet from a communication terminal connected to the mobile PAN is a home user's node which is allowed direct access into a home network or a visitor node (VN 31), and forwards the packet from the home user's node to an HA 20 while forwarding the packet from the visitor node to a policy server 36 located in a DMZ 35. This allows the policy server to perform access control on every packet from a visitor node which attempts to gain access into the home network based on a security policy 36a.

  • Patent number: 8385263
Abstract: A technique disclosed enables a node having a plurality of interfaces to conduct connection of the plurality of interfaces simultaneously in a communication network domain. A mobile node having a plurality of interfaces connects one of the interfaces with a MAG (mobile access gateway) 11a to take part in a NetLMM domain 18 using a NetLMM protocol, and a LMA (local mobility anchor) 13 includes association information with the MAG 11a registered therein. When the mobile node connects another interface with another MAG 11b, the LMA receives a registration request for association information of this mobile node with the MAG 11b, and makes an inquiry to the already registered MAG 11a as to whether link with the mobile node is still valid or not. If the link is valid, the LMA keeps association information of the mobile node with both of the MAGs 11a and 11b.

  • Publication number: 20130028237
Abstract: With the deployment of home NodeB or home eNodeB, a user can access both operator's core network and Local IP Access (LIPA), e.g. to home based network or general Internet, on the same device at the same time. However, existing mechanisms does not allow an efficient way of LIPA mobility support, especially when there are multiple home NodeBs or home eNodeBs serving the same LIPA domain. The present invention provides a solution that can achieve seamless mobility among different home NodeBs or home eNodeBs without interruption to LIPA service. The LIPA traffic for the terminal can be contained within the local domain during the handover process. It also provides support of the relocation of the gateway that provides the LIPA access to the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 8249086
Abstract: Disclosed is a technique which enables a mobile node (MN) connected to a mobile router (MR) to carry out flow filtering in a mobile network. This technique allows an MN 25 in a mobile network 24 to set a policy needed for the flow filtering in an MR 10 and, in the present invention, an MR inserts an egress characteristic thereof into, for example, a router advertisement message so that the egress characteristic, a node in a mobile network cannot grasp originally, can be advertised to the interior of the mobile network. Thus, the MN can grasp a characteristic of an access network (characteristic of access system 20) even in a case in which it is connected to the MR, which achieves intelligent flow filtering.

  • Publication number: 20120100856
Abstract: In a mobile communication system, a handover of a terminal device (MT) from a macrocell base station (eNB) to a small cell base station (HeNB) is controlled via a host device (MME or HeNB-GW). Physical cell ID deployment map information (PCI deployment map information), which includes at least information (PCI/CGI map information) indicating the correspondences between physical cell IDs and unique cell IDs of CSG cells for which access is granted, is generated in the host device (MME or HeNB-GW). When the terminal device measures the reception quality for surrounding CSG cells for handover control to any of the CSG cells, the terminal device uses the PCI deployment map information to generate a measurement result report. Thus, a service interruption caused by handover control to an inaccessible small cell can be avoided, and the wait time for handover control can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20120057474
Abstract: Due to the coverage size of the CSG cell, handover to macro-cell may occur frequently. These handovers are not desirable to both the user and operators. However, to disable or delay the handover of the CSG Cell would cause UE experiencing radio link failure and not able to re-establish connection to other cells. The present invention introduces a method for the UE to increase the stickiness to the CSG cells based on the user preferences and application requirements. When applied, it keeps the UE to the CSG cell as long as possible and reduces the possibility of connection re-establishment failure. The invention is also applicable to the corporate network deployment with multiple CSG cells.

  • Patent number: 8069235
Abstract: A technology is disclosed for efficiently managing the peer relationship, and in particular for allowing to discover which of one or more communication links of the network entity is connected to the same network entity. According to this technology, for example, the ID Controller (202) of the network entity (201) generates a unique identifier for the network entity from all the physical address on its multiple interfaces. The peer relationship controller (203) verifies if the generated unique identifier is overlapping with that of another network entity. The link control logic (205), upon sending a message to the network entity associated with the unique identifier, determines correspondence of the unique identifier with the peer network entity to interchangeably use the communication links (link 1 (211) to link n (213)).
