  • Publication number: 20200401792
Abstract: Implementations include actions of receiving consumer-specific data and ID-specific data from an identification presented by a consumer to a vending machine, processing at least a portion of the ID-specific data to determine one or more of whether the identification is unexpired and whether the identification is authentic, and serving the consumer from the vending machine at least partially in response to determining that the identification is unexpired and that the identification is authentic and determining that the consumer is authentic relative to the identification.

  • Patent number: 10873637
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media are provided for publishing, discovering, connecting with and activating services in a peer-to-peer environment. Services available in association with a first computing device are determined and encoded with instructions for accessing and understanding such services via their respective activation protocols. The encoded services are published via a publication protocol such that they are discoverable by at least a second computing device, irrespective of whether such services may be activated via the publication protocol. The second computing device discovers the available services via the publication protocol and accesses and understands the instructions associated with a desired service. Upon receipt of a request from the second computing device, via the activation protocol, to activate the requested service, the requested service is activated by the first computing device.

  • Patent number: 10862913
Abstract: In some embodiments, a resource security system may determine an access request outcome (e.g., accept, reject, or review) for an access request based on access rules. The resource security system may generate and select the access rules to be used for using stability information. For instance, the resource security system may select a training set from the received access requests, e.g., including recently received access requests, and generate a plurality of potential access rules based on the training set. The resource security system may determine and compare the detection performance and the stability performance of the potential access rules. The resource security system may select the best performing potential access rules to be used in operation for determining the outcome of access requests.

  • Patent number: 10855685
Abstract: Resources can be secured by a resource security system. The resource security system can determine whether to grant or deny access to resources using authorization information in an access request. The resource security system can also determine whether the access request is legitimate or fraudulent using risk scoring models. A score transformation table can be used to provide consistency in the risk level for a particular score over time. The score transformation table can be based on a target score profile and a precision format (e.g., integer or floating point). The score transformation table can dynamically adapt based on the trending top percent of risk and can account for changes in the distribution of scores over time or by weekday. The scores can be used to determine an access request outcome. Access to the resource can be accepted or rejected based on the outcome.

  • Publication number: 20200345419
Abstract: A system for fixing a spatial relationship between medical instruments can include an interlock component including a body defining an aperture to receive and retain a first needle, a head connected to the body and defining a slot extending parallel to the aperture, and a first magnet at least partially surrounded by the head and disposed between the aperture and the slot. The system can also include a handle to receive and retain a second needle, the handle defining a retaining feature for receiving a portion of the interlock component and including a second magnet positioned adjacent to the retaining feature. The second magnet attracts the first magnet to retain the portion of the interlock component in the retaining feature such that the interlock component is oriented in a desired spatial relationship relative to the handle.

  • Patent number: 10784761
Abstract: An actuator is introduced that utilizes the forces that result from placing a current carrying coil in a magnetic field to rotate a connected object about at least one axis. In some embodiments, the introduced coil actuator includes a coil of conductor coupled to an arm or other type of structural element that extends radially from an axis of rotation. The introduced coil actuator can be utilized to provide motion control in a variety of different applications such as gimbal mechanisms. In some embodiments, the introduced coil actuator can be implemented in a gimbal mechanism for adjusting an orientation of a device such as a camera relative to a connected platform such as the body of an aerial vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20200175388
Abstract: Described are a system, method, and computer program product for optimizing a predictive condition classification model and automatically enacting reactive measures based thereon. The method includes receiving event data representative of a plurality of events. The method also includes receiving the predictive condition classification model configured to categorize each event as satisfying a condition or not. The predictive condition classification model is configured to order the plurality of events by likelihood of satisfying the condition. The method includes generating a performance evaluation dataset and plotting data configured to cause a visual display to represent at least two model performance metrics of the performance evaluation dataset on a same output plot. The method includes automatically rejecting a top percent of the plurality of events for suspected satisfaction of the condition, determined at least partially from a customized rejection algorithm or a preset rejection algorithm.

  • Publication number: 20200109003
Abstract: This invention relates to a unique food preservation system that is used to extend the shelf life of food items by automatically modulating the gas composition within an air-tight container to the optimal atmospheric conditions for the specific food item(s) being stored in these containers. In order to extend the shelf life of food items, the optimal levels of carbon dioxide and oxygen must be maintained within the food storage container at all times. This is accomplished by constant real-time monitoring of the atmosphere within the food storage container and actively as well as passively controlling the atmosphere.
