  • Publication number: 20080044702
Abstract: A diagnostic system for determining whether a rotor shaft of a compressor is unbalanced. The compressor includes a displacement sensor that measures the displacement of the rotor shaft as it is rotating. The sensor dynamic frequency signal is sent to a bandpass filter that filters out an eigen-frequency frequency that is a function of shaft elasticity and rotor dynamics. The filtered frequency signal is then rectified by a rectifier to make the filtered frequency signal positive. The rectified signal is then passed through a low pass filter that converts the rectified signal to a DC signal. The DC signal is then sent to a controller that determines if the amplitude of the signal is above a predetermined threshold, which indicates a problem with the balance of the compressor.

  • Publication number: 20030186652
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for unidrectional or bi-directional signal transmission between at least two elements (E1, E2), which constitute components of an electric power supply and signal transmission system (EVS) of vehicles. According to the invention, one of the elements (E1) is connected to at least one Bluetooth radio module (B1) and one of the other elements (B2) is connected to at least one Bluetooth radio module (B2). The unidirectional or bi-directional signal transmission between the elements (E1) and (E2) and to the Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2) takes place via an electric cable, but is wireless between the Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2). Several elements (E1, E2) that are connected to Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2) can be combined to form a Bluetooth pico-network. The Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2) permit bi-directional signal transmission. A maximum of eight Bluetooth radio modules (B1, B2) can transmit signals to each other in a Bluetooth pico-network.

  • Patent number: 6261931
Abstract: A method for growing high-quality gallium nitride over a substrate is disclosed. The method comprises growing first layer with a high dislocation density over the substrate, a second layer having a high number of point defects and a reduced dislocation density as compared to the dislocation density of the first layer over the first layer, and a third layer having a reduced number of point defects as compared to the second layer over the second layer. The resulting gallium nitride is semi-insulating, which inhibits parasitic current flow and parasitic capacitive effects, yet it not so insulating that electron flow in adjacent transistor channels is inhibited.

  • Patent number: 6093270
Abstract: The proposed process for bonding together two substrates with an anhydrous or low-water-content partially crystalline adhesive which is solid at room temperature is characterized in that the adhesive is first activated by internal and/or external friction. The substrates are then joined together with the adhesive between them. When allowed to stand, the structure attains its final strength after a period of between a few seconds to a few days. The friction destroys the crystalline structure and causes the adhesive to become gluey, and re-crystallization gives it its final strength and eliminates the gluey quality. The adhesive is based preferably on polyester or polyurethane and used preferably in the form of a gum stick without impermeable packaging. It is especially suitable for bonding paper, since it does not cause corrugation.
