  • Patent number: 5440309
Abstract: In a method of extracting motion errors of a carrier bearing a coherent imaging radar system from radar raw data, after calculating the entire azimuth spectrum (S(f,i)) and before correlation the azimuth spectrum is broken down over the entire bandwidth into n subspectra (S.sub.1 (f,i) . . . . S.sub.n (f,i)). Associated time-consecutive n subspectra of the two azimuth spectra are correlated with each other; by means of an expected frequency shift (v.sub.er) a window width is defined. From the curve (K.sub.0 (f,i)) obtained by correlation of the azimuth spectrum and from the subcurves (K.sub.i (f,i) . . . . K.sub.n,(f,i)) obtained by subcorrelations the maximum curve value within the window is determined. From the expected frequency shift (v.sub.er) and a just calculated frequency shift (V(i)) the new frequency shift (v'.sub.er) to be expected is determined. After simultaneous performing of the method steps described above over several strips of range gates (N.sub.

  • Patent number: 5433775
Abstract: The invention relates to a dimensionally stable, soft-rubbing adhesive stick consisting of a water-based preparation of starch derivatives and a soap gel as the shaping gel-forming component and, optionally, other auxiliaries. To obtain an adhesive stick which is largely based on natural raw materials and which may therefore be regarded as safe from ecological and toxicological standpoints, the invention is characterized in that viscosity-reduced starch ethers are present as the starch derivatives.

  • Patent number: 5427142
Abstract: A valve device for use in an electro-hydraulic mining control system employs a cuboidal housing composed of two separate sub-housings. One sub-housing block has bores containing valve assemblies with cartridges which can be inserted into or withdrawn from the bores via an exterior face. Each cartridge is made up of two elongate sleeve components in screw-threaded engagement. The sleeve components define valve seatings and closure elements are guided in the components and engage on the seatings. A rod couples the closure elements so that when one closure element is on its seating the other is off its seating and vice versa. The closure elements are biased with a spring contained in a bushing fitted into the bore via the exterior face. The bushing is used to rotate the sleeve components relative to one another to adjust the relative position of the valve seatings.

  • Patent number: 5159872
Abstract: A valve block in a mine hydraulic system contains a non-return valve which is opened when a hydraulic control signal occurs to connect a pressure fluid feed or return line to a working chamber of an appliance such as a prop. A auxiliary valve is mounted in the block and is operated manually to relieve the working chamber even if the non-return valve remains closed.

  • Patent number: 4755084
Abstract: A mine roof support has a slidable extension at the front end of an auxiliary roof cap pivoted for swinging up and down on a main cap. To prevent the extension from being extended when the angle of inclination of the auxiliary cap is too high an insulative cylindrical block is fitted to say the auxiliary cap to partially rotate as the auxiliary cap pivots. A flattened region on the block supports a metallic plate and indexes as the auxiliary cap pivots. A resiliently-mounted proximity switch on the main cap senses the presence of the plate and produces a signal to prevent the extension from being extended.

  • Patent number: 4718458
Abstract: A distributor block for interconnecting a hose bundle to a control device of a pressure fluid control system in an underground mine working has internal passageways for connecting valves of the device to individual hoses. Bores in the block receive detachable elongate coupling members which themselves have internal bores and plugs for engaging in sockets within the control device. The coupling members are journalled in the block for slight transverse and angular movements within seals.

  • Patent number: 4544185
Abstract: A hydraulic coupling device is connected to a multi-line hose comprising a plurality of hydraulic lines housed within a flexible sheath. The coupling device comprises a cylindrical nut, a plurality of plug pins housed within the nut, and means for holding the plug pins within the nut. The plug pins are each connectible to a respective line of the hose. The holding means comprises a holding disc, a retaining disc, and a sleeve. The sleeve is connected to the sheath of the multi-line hose. Each of the plug pins is provided with a pair of longitudinally-spaced collars which define therebetween a peripheral groove. The retaining disc is provided with a respective aperture for each of the plug pins. Each of the apertures has a diameter which is slightly greater than the diameter of one of the collars of the associated plug pin. The holding disc is provided with a plurality of radial slots. The peripheral groove of each plug pin engages within a respective radial slot of the holding disc.

  • Patent number: 4536017
Abstract: A connecting device usable with hydraulic or pneumatic multi-line hoses in mineral mining has a block containing bores interconnecting bore-outlets formed on end faces of the lock extending perpendicularly to one another. The bore outlets are disposed on common pitch circles on the end faces at equal spacings. Detachable fittings mate with the end faces. One of these fittings holds plug-pins in identical sockets formed by the bore-outlets. The other of the fittings is coupled with a multi-line hose with similar plug-pins which locate in sockets formed by the fitting in correspondence with the associated bore outlets. Provision is made for one of the plug-pins of each group to serve as alignment means for the other components and the plug-pin of the one fitting and corresponding socket of the other fitting can be re-orientated around the pitch circles of the end faces at will.

  • Patent number: 4422807
Abstract: A mine roof support has hydraulic props mounted between a floor sill and a roof bar which can be raised and lowered by extension and retraction of the props. A goaf shield is pivotably connected to the rear of the roof bar and is linked via levers to the floor sill. A hydraulic piston and cylinder unit is connected between the roof bar and the goaf shield. Apparatus serves to prevent damage to the support components, and especially to the unit which could be extended beyond its full stroke when the props are retracted to bring the goaf shield and the roof bar more or less into alignment. The protective apparatus is composed of a compact valve device operated by a member, such as a cam, to block the props from hydraulic pressure when the goaf shield and the roof bar assume a pre-determined angular disposition. Both the valve device and its operating member are disposed in a protected position within chambers formed inside the roof bar and the goaf shield adjacent the pivot connection therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4378124
Abstract: A hydraulic coupling device for connection to a multi-line hose including a plurality of hydraulic conduits bunched together comprises a casing, a plurality of plug pins housed within the casing, and a holder for holding the plug pins. The plug pins are each connectible to a respective conduit of the multi-line hose. Each of the plug pins has a circumferential groove, and the thickness of the holder is greater than the width of the circumferential grooves in the plug pins. The plug pins are held in radial slots in the holder, the radial slots being so shaped as to retain the plug pins against axial movement with respect to the holder.

  • Patent number: 4140087
Abstract: The air flow rate and the speed of an internal combustion engine are sensed and translated into pulse trains of variable frequency. During a time interval defined by the rpm related signal, a digital counter receives and counts the air flow rate frequency. Subsequently, the contents of this counter are counted out by a pulse train whose frequency is adjustable depending on other engine conditions such as start-up, warm-up, idling, full-load and the like. The apparatus also includes circuitry for generating a control pulse of minimun length.

  • Patent number: 4024850
Abstract: A sensing means is provided to monitor combustion of fuel and air supplied to an internal combustion engine, for example by sensing ignition pulses, combustion pressure, or cylinder temperature. Signals, as sensed, are evaluated and if one of these signals is beyond a certain threshold (e.g. extreme with respect to a set value, or with respect to an average of all signals) as sensed by threshold switches, supply of the combustible fuel-air mixture to the specific cylinder is interrupted.
