  • Publication number: 20050051141
Abstract: In a fuel container (1) for a motor vehicle having a plurality of chambers (2, 4), a suction jet pump (18, 19) with a filling level sensor (11, 12) is arranged in each of the individual chambers (2, 4). A valve (24, 25) is arranged in a propellant line (20, 21) leading to the suction jet pump (18, 19). When a chamber (2, 4) is virtually empty, the supply of fuel to the suction jet pump (18, 19) is disabled and an unnecessary movement of the fuel is thus avoided.

  • Publication number: 20050027497
Abstract: In the case of a method for calculating the impact behavior of a fluid-filled container, characteristic numbers and/or physical values of a solid body are used for the fluid, and the characteristic numbers and/or physical values are approximated to those of a fluid. This results in greatly simplifying the calculation of the impact behavior of the container.

  • Publication number: 20040250611
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for control of an electric fuel pump (1, 2) on a motor vehicle, whereby, on a fault in an electronic controller (3), the fuel pump (1, 2) is connected to the voltage supply of the vehicle. The fuel pump (1, 2) then pumps at full capacity. Said device offers a high security against a break in the supply of fuel.

  • Publication number: 20040226366
Abstract: The invention relates to a filling level sensor for a fuel tank with a float which is fastened to a lever arm and at least one contact which is arranged on the lever arm and is in connection with a slider track formed as a thick-film resistor. The thick-film resistor consists of at least two precious metals, one precious metal being silver and present in a smaller proportion than the other precious metal.

  • Publication number: 20040216783
Abstract: In a feed device (2) for a motor vehicle, a ventilation element (10) is arranged in a feed line (7) which is guided into an intermediate tank (8) arranged upstream of a surge chamber (3). The ventilation element (10) has an opening (11) which is closed when the fuel is flowing and is released if the flow fails. Drainage of the intermediate tank (8) by means of a siphon effect is therefore avoided.

  • Publication number: 20040220405
Abstract: Highly pure triethylenediamine is obtained by a process in which triethylenediamine is freed from high boilers and then the triethylenediamine is vaporized from the mixture thus obtained and is passed into a liquid solvent. The process makes it possible in particular to obtain highly pure solutions of triethylenediamine. Crystallization is generally unnecessary.

  • Patent number: 6617047
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for coating apparatuses and apparatus parts for chemical plant construction—which are taken to mean, for example, apparatus, tank and reactor walls, discharge devices, valves, pumps, filters, compressors, centrifuges, columns, dryers, comminution machines, internals, packing elements and mixing elements—wherein a metal layer or a metal/polymer dispersion layer is deposited in an electroless manner on the apparatus(es) or apparatus part(s) to be coated by bringing the parts into contact with a metal electrolyte solution which, in addition to the metal electrolyte, comprises a reducing agent and optionally the polymer or polymer mixture to be deposited in dispersed form, where at least one polymer is halogenated.

  • Publication number: 20030004349
Abstract: In a process for the purification of triethylenediamine (TEDA) in which TEDA is vaporized and the gaseous TEDA is passed into a liquid solvent and is subsequently crystallized from this, the mother liquor obtained after the TEDA has been crystallized is extracted with an extractant which is immiscible or only slightly miscible with the solvent of the mother liquor and in which TEDA is readily soluble, and the TEDA-depleted mother liquor obtained after extraction and/or the TEDA-enriched extractant which has been used for the extraction are/is returned to the process.

  • Patent number: 6491180
Abstract: A fuel tank for a motor vehicle comprising a wall composed of two shells arranged one above the other. The outer shell of the wall preferably has an inlet orifice and an outlet orifice. A filter element is arranged in front of the outlet orifice. Scavenging air from the inlet orifice thereby passes first into a gap between the shells and subsequently to a filter element. As a result, fuel vapors can no longer diffuse through the wall and pollute the environment.

  • Patent number: 6463965
Abstract: A fuel tank having an inlet and an outlet is connected to a separate pressure vessel by means of a pump. Fuel vapors are pumped out of the tank and into the pressure vessel while the tank is being filled via the inlet, so that fuel vapors cannot escape during filling. After filling, the inlet is closed and the pressure in the tank is increased to about 4 bar by means of a pressure regulator in a line connecting the pressure vessel to the fuel tank. The pump is then switched off and the fuel can be delivered to the engine via the outlet under the increased fuel pressure in the tank, the pressure being reduced to fuel system pressure by a pressure regulator in the outlet line.

  • Patent number: 6422213
Abstract: A delivery device (2) for delivering fuel, having a delivery pump (3) and a fuel filter (7), has a bypass line (9) which is conducted past the fuel filter (7). When new, the delivery pump (3) delivers fuel through the fuel filter (7). After the fuel filter (7) has become clogged with dirt, the fuel is delivered by the bypass line (9) through a second fuel filter (10). By this means, pollution of the environment with fuel is kept particularly low.

  • Patent number: 6395215
Abstract: In a method of producing a fuel tank from plastic, a heating element is located between two shell parts to be welded to one another. When the shell parts are pressed together, the heating element melts into the plastic and produces a weld that provides a fuel-resistant seal. The fuel tank subsequently has a particularly exact shape.
