  • Patent number: 10675603
Abstract: A device for pastillating a flowable product, in particular a melt. The device has a revolving belt and a drop former, and the drop former deposits product drops on an upper run of the belt. The product drops, in the course of transportation on the upper run of the belt, solidify to form pastilles, and an arrangement for wetting the belt with a liquid release agent is provided upstream of that region in which the product drops are deposited on the belt. The release agent prevents or reduces the adhesion of the product drops to the belt, and a proportional metering pump is provided for continuously mixing the release agent from at least two liquid components during the operation of the device.

  • Patent number: 8578509
Abstract: A packaging film which contains pigment particles randomly distributed in a low surface-area density is used for the authentication of products. An imaging device is used to record a first digital image of a packaged product. The positional coordinates, and optionally the color values, of the pigment particles contained in the packaging film are determined from the digital image by means of a computer program and an identification code is calculated from the coordinate or color values and stored in a database. To authenticate the product at a later time, a second digital image is recorded and a test code is determined and compared with the recorded identification code.

  • Patent number: 8241693
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing a fat-containing suspension and/or a fat-containing emulsion, in particular a chocolate or a chocolate-like fat composition, by mixing an emulsion formed by means of a reactive emulsifying technique, which emulsion has a disperse aqueous phase and a continuous fat phase, with a fat phase, in particular a cocoa mass. The invention relates, in particular, to a method of producing agave syrup-containing chocolate, wherein an emulsion consisting of cocoa butter or another fat or fat mixture and agave syrup or an aqueous sugar solution is generated and mixed with cocoa mass. According to the invention, the emulsion and later the chocolate are stabilized by emulsification at elevated temperature and evaporating the agave syrup or the sugar solution in the emulsified state. An otherwise customary comminution of the dry materials is therefore no longer necessary since the fineness necessary for sensory properties is set by the emulsifying process.
